Why not just "borrow" your husband's camera, since your pics came out so well and you like it ? I'm sure he'd be glad to get another and it'll give you a chance to investigate other cameras. You're pleased with your results...why not stick with a winner?! Let's see some more.

haha I am using his camera until I find a new one lol

My 2 cents, stay away from a bridge & go with a DSLR. Just my thoughts.

hmm thank you for your advice. I'll look into both before I buy.

Nikon, Nikon, nothing but Nikon!!! Yes, I use Nikon and I am prejudiced.

Now thats the 2nd person to say that to me today & the other person has a canon camera. I think I'd buy a bridge camera if it has everything I want on it. GPS & wifi is a must.

Outstanding for a first timer. Are you hooked?

Thank you PixelStan77

Definitely! I'm even thinking about buying a camera similar to my husbands.

very nice photos, 1st photo of the dog I swore you had stole a photo of one of my two, the black color and lack of white on chest proved me wrong

The photo of the dog belongs to someone I know & it was the first photo I took with the camera.

On no! Another one hooked....I guess your husband will never see his camera again. Great shots and now the fun begins.

Thank you.

I think I might see if I can buy a new one for myself as I prefer it with GPS on it. I'm still amazed at the difference

Very nice!! Looks like your husband lost a camera. OR, better yet, he is getting a NEWER camera👍

Would you believe I've been looking at new cameras for me already after I borrowed his. The thing is what do I buy Nikon, Panasonic or another make?

Hi All

As I've said in a previous post I'm new to photography & I use a Nikon S9900 compact camera.

Today I used my husbands Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ72 camera for the first time & am amazed at the quality of the photographs. I still can't believe I actually took these photos

I've been to all three towns. Also spent a couple of days at the Pilkington factory in St. Helen's . Chester was my favorite - really nice. Lots of half timbered Tudor buildings downtown. Unique sort of shopping area (The Rows???) with shops half a level above and below the pedestrian street. Maybe you could give yourself an assignment to do a photo study of it and post here.

You've done something I've not done & gone to the Pilkington Factory. Chester is lovely with the roman walls & the shopping with the rows. I need to go back to chester. The catherdal near the shopping area is nice & also the river dee which is also walking distance from the shops is nice too. Plus they have Chester racecourse as well. When I go back i will get some photos & post them.

No, getting down on their level. Personally, I have a bad habit of walking up to short things and shooting down at them if they're on the ground. You see parents do this with the snapshots of their children all the time. Tame waterfowl would also be in that category.

Because you can get closer, sometimes you get right up on them and then shoot down. Sometimes that works well, but sometimes the better shot is from a ground perspective.

Ah never thought of doing that. I might have to try it. Thanks..

The robin was close to me & stayed there while I took photos of it. I know the one I've added with the 6 isn't the best but these were closer. Every time I go out walking I can guarantee I see a robin on my travels
