I haven't played much with photo filters. But I happened across a phone app that had good reviews, so I tried it. Maybe it's not anything special, but I like it to start with. At left is a photo I took. At right is what I ended up with using Mirror Lab (Android).

I do one type of uncommon shot: collage 1: slow exposure of hubcaps in motion, which sometimes produce faces. Daylight: 1/25 sec, about f/18 to f/22, ISO 100; nighttime ~1/5 sec, about f/8, ISO 100

That's related to collage 2: car shots generally, including hubcaps in motion, and intentional camera movement

Which leads to collage 3: intentional camera movement

Thanks for the welcome, and for checking out my pics and video photoshows! Few people ever look at those. It's nice that you did.

I'm an amateur photographer (and retired computer programmer) living in Colorado (since 1989). I've been active with digital since 2005 and was into film photography in the mid- to late-80's while living in Northern California.

Sports is my main subject (especially baseball, also football and basketball). Other subjects include nature (mostly landscapes/birds), dark/moody, "long" exposure (largely under 5 seconds, including hubcaps in motion), intentional camera movement, minimalism, utility poles, black and white, people, silhouettes, and whatever else catches my eye. I don't see my (better) photos as complete until I've made video photoshows from them, set to music, and timed to lyrics as much as practicable.

Until moving 85 miles (within Colorado) in May, 2016, I was the de facto photographer for most of ten years for the Centennial State League (CSL), a summer, college-level baseball league in the northern Colorado Front Range. Now I'm doing a similar thing for a high school football team.

I've emphasized getting out and shooting over book/video/website learning. I look forward to learning more about editing, shooting techniques, equipment, etc/whatever from this forum including as a contributor as I learn some of that on my own.

I've put 7,000+* pics on flickr and my best 350 or so on smugmug. Facebook is between those two (but mostly friends-only).
* "Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst." -- Henri Cartier-Bresson

I use a Canon 7D and a 7D Mark II, primarily with Canon 70-200/2.8 and Canon 28-135/3.5 now.
I used a Canon T90 with Tokina 100-300 in the 80's.

My current pride and joy is set to "Promise Land", by Hannah Miller.

By way of intro I've included a representative collage.

Thanks for your comment! That was my first post and I somehow posted the photo twice, I don't know how. How might that have happened so I can avoid that?

Or, was it because I had it save the original? I saw something after posting that that indicated that there wasn't really a need to save the original on that, so I'll be more discriminating in the future.

Sorry to be contrarian, but... I'm reasonably happy with my Canon 7Dii (and still have the 7D as a secondary) and my Canon 70-200 2.8 and a few other lenses. ;-) I do wish it were better at higher ISO .... Anyway, my wife has a Nikon 1 J5 and a D7200. Both of hers have problems. So, we're considering the Sony A7 III. We'll, frankly, we've barely started on that. I'd appreciate any quick advice from others who've looked into the A7 III, including thoughts/experience on adapters for Nikon F to Sony E, such as whether you've gone with the adapters vs (or are considering/planning) switching to buying Sony E mount lenses. Thanks!
