I have shot hundreds of weddings in the UK and most of the advice you will get is total rubbish.
Stick the 18-200 ( repaired) on your best camera and the wide angle on the other. Use small flash on the shoe and only shoot landscape when you use flash or you will get terrible side shadows. Crop later. Shoot at f8 auto iso 200-3200 min speed 1/60. Forget reflectors and other junk your brain has too much to do to bother with them. If you dont have a loud voice get a megaphone. Always put your subjects in the shade but if not possible in full sun.
You can look here (40,000 wedding pics) www.1and1photography.co.uk and use obama@hotmail.com to get into the client area
I am not bothering to respond to further comments because its all gone into UHH stupid senario.
Will post results when I get the Tamron 1.4 or maybe not I question if many of you are worth it .
I don't know what camera you use,
Thats because you dont read previous posts.
Your not using the 1.4x from Tamron
I am but you are not reading the previous posts.
it only works with the Tamron SP 70-200 G1 & G2 and the Tamron 150-600 G1 & G2.
Thats wrong because you dont read the specs.
Why do I bother its like talking to that idiot Trump. ( I dont think he can read either)
Thats the problem with UHH nobody reads ......
QUOTE FROM MY LAST POST ..
" I have found a Tamron TCX-14 in as new condition for half the rec price and if I dont like It I will send it back
Had the Tamron 150-600 and it was terrible In 2 years it got 2 sharp photos may have been a bad one ..bought a Nikon 200-500 and it was fantastic but heavy so I go the 100-400 and its just as good on the D850.
So I have found a Tamron TCX-14 in as new condition for half the rec price and if I dont like It I will send it back and it's only cost me the postage.
Interesting will be the Tap in Console.Currently I have all 16 points programmed into the lens....Intend to use the Nikon auto back focus at 400mm and see how far it is out. Programme that into the camera and see how we go . will let you know in about a week.
The tamron 1.4 is more expensive than the 100-400 lens so I dont want to buy it without some concrete recommendations..I have not had much luck with the image quality on Kenko extenders on other lenses .
IF YOU DID NOT USE THIS LENS/TC COMBO DONT REPLY.
I DONT WANT GENERAL COMMENTS ON TCs .IF YOU DID NOT USE THIS LENS/TC COMBO DONT REPLY.
You know what happens on UH ..none specific questions followed by dozens of useless answers. Lets avoid that please.
Looking for information from anyone who has actually used this lens with any brand of teleconverter on a Nikon camera and can report on results.
I DONT WANT GENERAL COMMENTS ON TCs .iF YOU DID NOT USE THIS LENS/TC COMBO DONT REPLY.
If you can see and hear it must be better than just listening. I think its a good move
If it starts 24or 28 to xxx its FX if it starts 18-xx its DX..you want the old D screw drive lenses
When I got my D850 I was disappointed until I put the sharp up to +9 and adjusted the fine focus adjust.
Applies to all Nikons and all lenses ..if it ain't set right you will think its no good. If you have a new lens then set the FFA and do it again after 1000 shots as they all run in the mechanism getting freed up.
The Age part of the display relates to the balance of the two internal cells...if one is a lower voltage than the other the age reading goes up. Leave it on the charger for 24 hrs. You could use a EN EL 18 in a grip on the D500 and with the MH 26 charger you can re balance the cells using the calibrate button
I have used two of these over the years on D850 and D810 and taken tens of thousands of wedding photos with them . You must get the fine focus adjust right ..both mine were +15 and if you shoot JPEG then the sharpness to +9 ( that applies to all lenses and all Nikon cameras) If you go my website www.1and1photography.co.uk go the the client area ( use obama@hotmail.com to gain access) and you have 40,000 photos from this lens and the Samyang 14mm..all large basic
I usually carry two D850 one with the 28-300 and one with the samyang 14mm..harness over both shoulders ..The swivel stops it getting tangled and it all falls to the hand perfectly .
