I have my eye on traveling to Oregon again and heading up to the Rowena Crest Viewpoint this spring and snap a few photos per the river there.
So what I ended up getting is a canon 6d mark II, canon 24-105 f4 both used and with 2 year warranty. In addition I plunged in and purchased the Tamron 150-600 G2.
So far I am loving the camera and lens. Shot probably 40 shots today and initially very good. All done in Manual mode. If it doesn't rain tomorrow (it does that ocationally here in Seattle), I will connect the Tamron and go look for whales or Eagles and see how well I do.
Sure love the challenge and learning this photography stuff. I know I am a little in over my head, but nothing easy is worth doing.

Now that is a great idea. I will use it more than just the Yellowstone trip. Here in the Seattle area I chase Orca whales when they arrive in Puget Sound and this lens will help to reach out and touch them. However, I think rental is great for my Yellowstone trip as a test run.

Wow, just as I expected from this forum. So many great comments and suggestions. I am going to stay with my t2i and grab the Tamron 150-600 for my Yellowstone trip.

Yes I have considered refused and used but have not researched that aspect yet. I am a bit cautious but if there are honest dealers as you have identified I will certainly talk to them.

Hi All UHH Members,
I am thinking about moving from my Canon t2i to a full frame camera. I can't spend more than about 2k. My current lenses are only good for my t2i, so everything requires change.
I am asking for suggestions that fit into the $2k catagory. Of course maybe a package deal for starters.
I like my t2i but am not set on staying with canon. BTW I shoot mostly outdoors and landscape and nature. I am very novice at this.

I was stationed there as the Operations Officer for a PSU in 2006 as part of JTF . Not to bad of duty except for being confined to the base. The snorkeling wasn't to bad.
The Oregon coast is so beautiful, yet it can also be very dangerous. Please everyone pay attention to your suroundings when out in nature.
You always have great captures. I have visited this same bridge, however my camera was at home. Lesson learned here.

To me this is a beautiful sight to see a father and son with quality time. It shows how well you did raising your son. Also shooting sports is more than just pulling a trigger. I instills patients, calmness and most importantly focus.
