Picture number two is the best! It is a great composition and follows the requirements for a true piece of art, so the angle is is perfect.

Thanks! I've actually noticed that a lot of the photos I take have something in the image that parallels the frame. Those two photos I did that only because I didn't want other crap in the frame (other people, distracting lines)

My favorite lens on my t3i was a pentax smc 50mm f/1.7. It was insanely sharp wide open. If you can shoot manually without to much fuss go for it.

I'm selling the entirety of my Canon kit since I'm moving to a Pentax setup. Shutter count on the 7D is 11,045, the camera still has the matte finish like it's new. There's a slight scuff in the paint on the edge below the shutter button as pictured, but the screen has zero scratches. If you're interested and want to test everything out feel free to contact me, if you're new to photography I can teach you how to use it.
I've treated every piece of gear I've owned as if it were my own child. Everything except the 10mm and 55mm macro was purchased new.
If you want one piece of gear comment for pricing. Will trade with cash on top for a pentax k-1 body or a pentax 67 setup.
Everything I'm including for $1100:
OR INDIVIDUALLY, SHIPPING INCLUDED
$450-Canon 7D (with strap/4 batteries/charger/pc cable)
$220-Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 (Like new, only used for about 50 picutures, comes with box if you want)
(SOLD)Canon 85mm f/1.8 (Excellent condition)
$200-Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM (main lens. Excellent condition)
$300-Sigma 10mm f/2.8 DC HSM (Lens is perfect, but no lens cap, comes with lens case)
(SOLD) Nikkor 55mm Macro f/2.8

Spending more money does not help your photography skills. Everyone thinks more equipment makes you a better photographer. Most photographers now know little about the basics of photography, lighting, or even what makes a good photograph, just new equipment. The photographer takes the picture, not the camera.

He has a couple of pieces of L glass, I doubt someone completely new would spend that.
On topic of the post, I just went through the same dilema. My advice is go to your local camera store and feel some stuff out. Spending the $70 to rent for a day is worth making a sound decision on your purchase.

I recently went out to a moderate gather of photographers but immediately felt contrived just walking to where the best picture of the seattle would've been. I snagged these shots instead. The first is more for entertainment but helpful criticism is much appreciated.

the sigma 30mm f1.4 is spectacular on aps-c sensors (equivalent to 48mm full frame). It's pretty much lived on my 7D for the past 3 years.

Hey everyone! I've been shooting for about 5 years now and I'd like to think I've improved since I started. I moved out to seattle about 2 months ago but I'm traveling pretty constantly. This city is a MECCA of photographers which I wasn't expecting when I got out here. I've been shooting on a Canon 7D, but recently I picked up a sigma dp2 merrill and a pentax k1000 so I'm looking to sell my canon gear (Message me for deets) and go with either a Pentax k1 or a Pentax 67 (I have lots of limited glass from my dad/grandad). All photos are from the past month, the waterfalls are from hikes on opposite coasts.
Things I shoot: Landcape, Macro, Automotive
What I'd like to do more of: PORTRAITURE
Any tips on good photo spots in france appreciated, I leave on the 28th

CRITIQUES ALWAYS WELCOME!
