Trump had one field day after another pushing his birther-ism nonsense on Obama. The issue died when Obama finally showed his birth certificate. If this long suspected news of Trump's financial frailty is so f**e, Trump could put it all to rest by doing what every president since Nixon has done . . . release his tax records. He will not because those records will reveal him for the phony person that he is.

The NYT reports that it has possession of tax and financial documents that confirm their reporting. You Trump dev**ees can claim the NYT f**e news if you want, I feel confident they would not claim to have said documents if it were not true.

Trump promised the country that he would release his tax documents. You all are welcome to swallow Trump's manufactured excuse that he has not released these documents because they are under audit. You need not delve into extensive research to ascertain that there is absolutely no reason why an audit should prohibit the release of these documents . . . or do you consider that f**e news as well.

Offer as many excuses as you can devise. The t***h will continue to reveal itself. The only thing f**e about this story is Trump's claim that it is f**e.

” The FBI and the U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said Thursday that they are investigating "potential issues" with nine military b****ts in one county. They believe the b****ts were opened improperly — though they have not yet filed any charges or taken official action.

U.S. Attorney David Freed noted the investigation remains active, but said he is releasing the news publicly "based on the limited amount of time before the general e******n and the vital public importance of these issues."

V****g rights experts and Justice Department veterans, however, said that proximity to the e******n and the preliminary nature of the investigation make Freed's announcement highly unusual.

The potential v****g irregularities in Pennsylvania came to light after President Trump mentioned them, offhand, in an interview with a Fox radio host Thursday.

"We have to be very careful with the b****ts," the president told reporters later, according to a news pool report. He described what he called a "s**m" where b****ts had been found in the trash. The president has been criticizing the integrity of this year's e******n for months.

"We want to make sure the e******n is honest, and I'm not sure that it can be," Trump continued.

Discovery by local officials

Officials said Luzerne County E******ns Director Shelby Watchilla discovered the b****ts last week and the matter was immediately reported to authorities.”

For a bit more context, you might want to read here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/09/25/what-we-know-about-those-discarded-trump-b****ts-pennsylvania/

The article states that this issue was discovered by local e******n officials who promptly retrieved the erroneously discarded b****ts, 7 of which were for Trump, two of which had been resealed. Local officials then self-reported this issue to federal, state, and local e******n officials which initiated the DOJ review.

Of note, Trump learned of the issue from AG Barr, whose disclosure of the ongoing investigation is legally questionable, especially during an active e******n season. The investigation is ongoing, and, at this point, no one knows for certain if a crime occurred. The erring employee (a contract worker) has been dismissed.

The thing most certain about this instance is that, contrary to the charge of e******n r*****g (on the part of Democrats), the system worked vigorously to track down the errant b****ts and correct the situation.

All the media noise will consist of Trump's erroneous claim that this was a deliberate case of rigging. He will never acknowledge the honest and consistent effort made by local e******n officials to uncover and correct the situation.

Trump should never have been informed about this new and ongoing investigation. DOJ and the executive branch should not be this cozy. It is not supposed to work that way. Barr either chose not to tell Trump the whole story, or Trump cherry-picked what he felt he could use to further denigrate the faith that US v**ers have (or should have) in our e******n system.

There is, essentially, no rampant fraud in our v****g system, whether mail-in or in person. Trump eschews evidence, t***hful information, advice from his own FBI director, and on and on.

Being a germophobe hardly justifies Trump's use of the word d********g to describe supporters who would like to shake his hand. It also doesn't justify the disregard he has for their health when he takes great pains to protect his health by distancing while he packs his supporters like sardines to create the visual effect he desires. One fact is clear, however, and reinforced by the posts in this thread. He is absolutely correct that he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose a single v**e.

Olivia Troye went out of her way to heap praise on Pence, yet, as Trump's lapdog, Pence characterized her as a disgruntled former employee.

I wonder what excuses can be constructed to excuse Trump's threats not to accept the result of the upcoming e******n unless he wins. C'mon, be creative. Of course, the massive fraud is only occurring in 'blue' states.

Interesting, Republicans pushed through a huge tax cut that befitted big business and wealthy citizens, concern for the deficit be damned. Then, predictably, they turned there attention to entitlements including social security because it needs to be changed to survive. What changes will be made?

I have paid in all my life. Will I get screwed in the end?

I was curious to see what the reaction would be on this forum in response to the Taylor indictment. I am surprised to see that, apparently, there is no reaction at all.

The indictment seems to ignore the innocent victim in this sorry incident.

What say you all?

I'll give you some advice to stay healthy, whether you are a criminal or a non-criminal don't pull a gun or a knife on a cop and do what he says when you are told.

And you are blaming the 30 year disaster of Higher Education and out of control college loans on Trump who has been in a short four years and just refunded all Trump University tuition, refunded it all. This point of yours wouldn't pass elementary education.

Over 300 miles of the wall has been built. That would span the distance from Detroit to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan a distance that takes 4.5 hours to drive. It will eventually be paid off with increased border fee crossings from the Mexican side.

You state, "Every citizen should have access to healthcare." But your candidate and all the Dems want free healthcare for i*****l i*******ts too. And by the way, more Democrats are Millionaires and Billionaires than Republican. Most of Wall Street like Goldman sachs, et al. are Democrats.

If you took the deaths of C***d from nursing homes out of the totals (40%) the U.S. would lead the world in lowest death rate. And who is responsible for all the nursing home deaths? Democrat governors. And a v*****e in record time of less than 2 years because of Trump's Operation Warp Speed, Priceless!

I don't mind paying higher prices because of tariffs because it is in the interest of strengthening our country against unfair and predatory trade practices. I am glad Trump has the balls to do that, something the O'Biden administration lacked.

To paraphrase you, "Your statements are so ignorant, I cannot dignify them with further comment."

Trump’s recreation: I don’t care so much about his recreation, but why should he make personal profits by charging taxpayers the cost of housing his entourage at properties he owns (most presidents divest themselves of the possibilities of realizing such properties).

Obama managed to accomplish ACA which has frustrated Trump and Republicans since the day it was passed.

Advice: Don’t try to sleep in your own apartment while black. That’s the same as disobeying a cop.

Trump settled his phony college issue. Show me that every penny was paid back. “About 7,000 students will share in the settlement, according to their lawyers. The customers will be eligible to rec**p at least half of what they spent at Trump University, and some could receive a full refund, the lawyers said.” (New York Times - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/19/us/politics/trump-university.html)

It’s BS that any portion of the wall will be paid off with increased border fee crossings . . . total BS, and not near to fulfillment of Trump’s promise that he will build a great wall and that Mexico would pay for it. The promise was BS, the execution has been BS. Most of the wall constructed is repair of existing wall. That Trump supporters can pass him on this point proves to me that he was absolutely correct when he claimed that he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose a single v**e.

Deaths of C***d?? Why should we eliminate nursing home deaths from the total count? Are they not human? Are you suggesting that there were no nursing home deaths in states with Republican governors, really? Have states with Republican governors performed better than states with Democratic governors performed better against this terrible v***s? Trump is forever fomenting against ‘blue’ states. Look at the closeness of the v**es in many of those ‘blue’ states. Does he not realize that he does Republicans who happen to live in those ‘blue’ states a disservice when he takes his e*******l losses out on those ‘blue’ states.

Trump’s tariffs are not imposed in the interest of strengthening our country, only in strengthening his ree******n prospects. What he did to his nation’s farmers with his tariffs is unspeakable, all for effect, no more genuine than his photo op holding the upside down Bible (probably bookmarked to two Corinthians – oh, the Bible scholar, he).

You may consider my statements ignorant (I only stated this about one of your statements, go back and have a look), however, I will take credit that my personal SAT score was mine, not the product of some stand-in paid to take the exam for me and paid for his services from my Daddy’s bank account. If someone wants to look at my academic record, I have no need to threaten that person or agency (or the school) with a lawsuit.

Give Trump a pass if you want. Most of his followers do so.

People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.

Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is v******ted.

Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.

$5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.

If you c***t to get into college you go to prison, but if you c***t to get into the country you go to college for free.

Socialist: a word that can mean wh**ever one wants it to mean, and you attach to it innuendo that is out of touch with that to which left-leaning (but well meaning) Americans intend.

Census: the process by which all persons residing in this country are counted – always was, always should be. Predator Trump has tried all his tricks to under count the population, which benefits him, not America (everything he does or tried is intended to benefit him, not you or me).

Responsibility: When Predator Trump is held responsible for some of his many t***sgressions, I will take another look at your view on responsibility. He charges you and me millions to accommodate his secret service detail at his many properties where he goes to play golf, much golf, much, much golf. Enjoy paying.

Criminals: . . . and non-criminals are shot or suffocated dead often for having not committed crimes.

S***es: Right, and descendants of s***e owners have voluntarily taken steps backwards to give descendants of s***es an equal starting point. Please, spare me.

College loans: and many a student was sucked into this scheme owing to f**e schools like the one to which Trump attached his name. How clever.

Immigrants with TB, etc: This statement is so ignorant, I cannot dignify it with further comment.

I recall quite a few German engineers (former N**i’s) who were made quite welcome to immigrate to this country. If you call what the Predator offers these so-called “fence-jumpers” a welcome, I beg differ.

Security/health care: If the Predator hadn’t run on having Mexico pay for his wall (which is yet to be built), there would be little issue here. Every citizen should have access to healthcare. You do not mention pre-existing conditions. Huge tax breaks for billionaires is ok, you have no problem with that. Humane provision of healthcare is a major issue for you. I suppose that if someone comes down with a terrible disease and cannot afford his/her healthcare, you would just tell them to crawl off and die, right?

I can agree with you that not much is making sense these days, especially given a Predator who still swears that the v***s will disappear on its own, that it never presented a real threat, but, oh, now it does and he told us that all along, that our number of cases is only high because we test too much, that tariffs on other countries provide income to the US derived from what those other countries pay us as a result of said tariffs (how utterly ignorant – anyone knows that the cost of tariffs on imports are borne by you and me (enjoy paying if it makes you happy.

I agree that America needs to wake up. The Predator and his accomplice, Moscow Mitch, are taking us all to the cleaners.

All I was stating was what has been the precedent.

It's amazing to me that Dems think things should be done differently this year, as opposed to the past 140 years, just because the President is Donald Trump. The only problem there is that T***p w*n't back down - no matter how much the Dems r**t, l**t, burn and otherwise throw their tantrums.

What happened to that precedent in 2016?
I think it has little to do with the President being Donald Trump. It has everything to do with McConnell and his 2016 statement (excuse) that we should not allow the sitting president to exercise his duty to put forth a nominee and the Senate's responsibility to grant a fair hearing to that nominee whenever a vacancy occurs.

Now, facing the same situation, but with an opportunity to confirm a conservative replacement, McConnell ignores the phony statement he made as an excuse in 2016.

Conservatives on this forum will excuse McConnell by hypothetically stating that Democrats, in the same situation, would do the same thing. That may or may not be true, but, to me, is not an excuse. Lindsay Graham backed McConnell up in 2016, going so far as to say that he would be true to that statement (excuse) if the situation were ever reversed (adding something to the effect that you could point your finger at him if he were not true to his word when the time came). Now, the situation is exactly reversed. The time has come, and my finger is pointing at you, Lindsay!

However, if you agree with the OP's slate in light of what I have posted as objections, I can draw a fairly accurate mental picture of where you and I might come down on the central issues.

S***ery was wrong, disenfranchisement was wrong, poll taxes were wrong, Jim Crow was wrong, my HS counselor was wrong (thank the lord), and, if you choose to justify any of the foregoing issues, then, you, too, are wrong.

Changing the nature of man, I agree, is near to impossible. Changing the laws of the land are not near so impossible if there is a consensus of the population who will stand up for what is right. Where do you stand?

Please, the move to ban high capacity magazines has little to do with home invasions. Please cite one instance of a home invasions where the issue of high capacity magazines would have come into play. Home invaders do not carry high capacity magazines, and most home owners do not include them in their home protection strategies.

The dispute over high capacity magazines has its origins rooted in the NRA's political strategy to politicize any gun control measures. Should we all minimize the emotional toll shouldered by all those affected by mass shootings to protect the political influence of the NRA, a non-profit currently fighting for its life as financial improprieties are exposed for us all to see?

I own guns, but do not feel threatened that they may be taken away from me by the federal government. That fear is manufactured by the NRA, not for its merit, but because that fear stoking has been a vehicle by which it has attempted to extend its political influence and, hence, its financial solvency which has been abused by its leadership.

Like all t***h, the t***h about the NRA is bubbling to the top. I feel sorry for so many of the everyday, average gun owners who supported the NRA with their membership dues. Unt***h is what they have been given in return for their membership dues.

Banning or not banning high capacity magazines will not solve our problem with mass shootings. Extinction of the NRA may solve some of our political problems. Time will tell.
