Assuming a newer iPad, you can use a USB-C to USB-C cable. Older iPad may require USB-C to Lightning cable.

Alternatively, you can download Nikon’s SnapBridge app and download wirelessly. There’s a brief learning curve to connect the iPad to the camera’s network. Yes…it’s slow, especially for NEF files…but you can preview and select the ones you want.

Once SnapBridge is installed (especially on your phone), you can also use it for tethered shooting. Not the best tethering arrangement, but the price is good.

There’s a Whole Foods Market along the river road, just south of Fort Lee. Maybe a little further north than you’d like, but you can park at the market and walk right over to the path along the river.

And…just north of that, as you start going up the hill, there’s a roadway that goes under the George Washington Bridge…some really cool opportunities there. Study your maps before you go.

I've been with Hartford insurance for many years with a good driving record and haven't had any claims on my house for over 20 years. Gradually they have been raising the rates to where I'm ready to jump ship to another company.

Are there any insurance companies that you would recommend.
Interesting side note when I was talking to an insurance company they said they couldn't insure me because I was in a fire zone. I live in a rural area amongst alfalfa fields. Go figure.

Thanks

We faced this issue this past year, so phoned our agent. She did some shopping for us and got car insurance for about 65% of the previous offer. And…that included an umbrella policy that we had been tacking on. Homeowners was about the same. I think we saved about $1500 over the previous bid.

Yes…coverage was the same. Interestingly, I think we ended up with Hartford.

Nice set. They are ubiquitous, and very photogenic.

Watch out for the large males.

I’ve used the toothpick approach several times. If the holes are particularly worn, I drill them out and replace with a glued dowel the same size as the drill, cut flush. Try to keep this only slightly larger than the original screw diameter.

A bit more time and effort, plus a bit more skill required, but works well.

Driving home, getting foggy, saw two of the neighborhood swans on the west leg of the lake. Decided the lighting was way cool, so grabbed the gear and headed over.

By now the west leg was empty, and the five were at the south end of the north part of the lake, next to the roadway. Here’s one.

Z7ii, 200-500 with FTZ at 500, f/5.6, perhaps 1/60 or 1/100, ISO 1000, with monopod.

That’s how women shop for clothes. 😉

At the risk of drawing ire, I disagree. My wife makes several trips to the store because she doesn’t have a list.

Oh…I like to quick-change heads, hence the Manfrotto.

I think business dropped off after COVID, and they blew the bonus at the casino.

We were taking our dogs to a local cemetery for exercise at that time. One day we met the caretaker, and my wife said ‘I’m just dying to be buried here’. No kidding.

Bought plots next to our friend, and texted her ‘howdy neighbor’.

How often do you purchase new stuff?

I used my last two film cameras twelve and eleven years respectively. I eventually decided I should think of a digital camera lasting five years, like a computer.

I last purchased new lenses when I purchased a new camera that could make good use of them.

I hardly ever use a tripod these days.

First camera D100 in 2004, D200 in 2007, D810 in 2015, Z7 in 2021

Lenses when I sense a need:

24-85D in 2004, 70-300D in 2006, 200-500 in 2019, 24-70Z in 2021, 14-30Z in 2023, 105 micro in 1984
