Every CPU has a memory controller. The memory controller can have any number of channels with 2 being the most common for consumer PCs. For the best performance, you match the number of memory sticks to the number of channel with 1 stick per channel. This is why most memory is sold as a 2 stick kit. With 2 sticks and 4 slots, the manual will guide you how to populate the slots. The High End Desktop motherboards (Xeon cpus and X299 chipset) have a 4 channel memory controller.

try this:

https://www.macrium.com/cloning-a-disk-with-macrium-reflect-v8

it explains how to expand a partition during cloning.

What I did was select "Clone." 49 minutes later, it was cloned - exactly like the original - with no extra 500GB. I might try it again using a different program.

I don't understand why it took so long. After the clone, go into disk management and expand the partition to include the unused space. I agree it's not a slick as Samsung Data Migration. There is also a tutorial on how to keep all partitions in proper order and have a middle partition utilize the extra space.

Crucial said to download their software - no problem - except it doesn't clone. Instead, it gives info about your drives. I had an old Macrium Reflect, but I downloaded the new version. ...

I'm not sure what you did but Macrium does a fine job of cloning a drive. Should have only taken a few minutes.
When you are in the main screen of Macrium just check the disk you want to clone. Just below the selected disk will be "Clone this disk." This is all covered with illustrations in the help file.

Thanks all. The onboard graphics card is the killer for me. I hate it when a company puts things together to lessen the price and doesn't allow the consumer to be able to upgrade. It is just another way of making their product proprietary. I'm glad some of you were familiar with the Intel 770 graphics card. I know my way around computers better than the average Joe on the street but am far far from being an expert in such matters. I'm glad you guys are out there!

The 770 is not a "card." It is integrated into the CPU and motherboard. You don't swap anything out and it's easily upgrade by adding a graphics card. However, a 450 watt power supply (not on sale for $28) isn't going to cut it. The problem with Dell is that many components are not standard and you have to buy from them. I wouldn't have a non standard PC. Then you have to ask if there is sufficient air flow in the case to support a graphics card. More power means more heat, just like a 200 watt light bulb puts off more heat than a 60. Don't concern yourself with DDR5. You would have to run benchmarks to tell the difference. If fact, if you are using an Intel CPU ram speed makes little difference. However, if using an AMD CPU, I would recommend DDR4-3600 minimum.

Many of the American companies in the microchip business without the capabilities to make the chip. Many of them are farbless companies. Apple has many chips but they can't make a single chip. They don't even have the ability to make Mac computer or Iphone either. Not only their products made overseas they didn't own the factories that made their products either. American businesses learned how to make a lot of money without making anything.

Apple has started to buy Chinese chips for the iPhone. They say they will only use the Chinese chips in the phones sold in China. Who knows?

Am I the only person that used Kodachrome 10. I believe this was in the 1956-1958 time frame.

I sold my M3 outfit a few years back. I used a 50mm f2 Dual Range Summicron. A super nice lens and the close focusing attachment was very useful.
