I ordered the Wein unit and don't see how to attach it to my camera. It does not just slide on. Any thoughts?

I have 2 older Vivitar flash units, a 352 and a 283. I know that their voltage is too high for my a330. The 352 connects by a PC cord and the 283 has a hot shoe and PC cord. Which Wein product would allow the safe use on my camera?

I have a Yashicamat EM. As far as I know it works. Also have a closeup lens set and lens hood. $100 including shipping.

The flash on my a330 is rather puny. At ISO 800 and f5.6 it is effective to 16 feet. I want greater range and the ability to shoot at wider apertures for greater depth of field. I do not anticipate using the flash off camera, so wireless connection is not that important to me. I want it mainly for birds and other small critters. Don't want to break the bank either. Any suggestions are appreciated.
