The PetExpo is a tradeshow that represents all things concerning pets. Animal shelters, rescues, pet supplies, veterinarians, pet stores, and just about everything else you can think of regarding pets is represented. So… You never know what you might see there...

I'm sure it's a ESA service animal Anyway, good shot

A common area in the apartment complex where I currently live. Our snow lasted a few hours, the gloom and gray has taken up most of a week

Very nice, the framing is so simple but so powerful here. You did well with some tricky contrast. :-)

Worked a bunch of otters today. Did not realize I had not gone through all the otter photos....I thought many lent themselves to B&W.

Very cute set, thanks for sharing :-)

Found this place in the back country near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

I really like the standing door frame standing. Looks like a really fun place to shoot B&W. I like the composition. The brightness of the wood in the center draws the attention there and you have enough background to set the scene. :-)

Florence, Italy 1971

Great catch thanks for sharing. 1971 was a few years before I got into photography.

I like the idea but it is missing something in depth. Try playing with increasing shadows and dropping highlights and or exposure and contrast. I think there is more to be brought out in it.

A conversion of a previously posted color image.

That is excellent, I really like it. I like your tone control and the panoramic composition really make the image. :-)

I like the original more. Shows the vastness of the fog.
The mountains are a nice delimiter between the sky and fog.

Thank you. I never gave it any thought to posting the original but I suppose I should have.

Thanks and I apologize for the delayed response. The original here is well done in itself but the B&W is exceptional. Seeing the original add emphasis to the work you did in getting to the posted B&W. Good job. Thanks for Sharing. :-)

Interesting replies. I hope you find your manual. Keep in mind that there is very little understanding or support here for the "project" aspect of photography. Several years ago, I successfully refurbished a Nikon D300 after being told here that it was impossible and a stupid idea. (I did require a little help at the end.) I am in the process of doing the same to a D500, although it didn't need nearly as much work.

If it works, it was fun and rewarding. If not, it was fun trying. The main thing is to have a good system for keeping track of parts as you remove them. You may also want to try to find a non-working "sacrificial body" for extra parts and to try things you may have to do that are less straightforward.

"If it works, it was fun and rewarding. If not, it was fun trying. " Yup, that is exactly where I'm at with this. Thanks for the advice on maintaining the layout ☺️

I just recently converted to B&W, taken on the dirt street of Tombstone, Arizona. I change the background to black added some fog with some gaussian blur and reduced the opacity for a soft touch appeal. Thoughts and feedback welcome.

Striking image, I'd like to see the original. :-)

These were taken with my IR-converted camera. The site is a local park which I visit commonly in different seasons and different lighting. They are low-res images, but I decided to share them anyway.

I like #6, it tells the story of fall.
