I tokk this in Newport RI and it is all that remains of one of the famous Newport Cottages, it's the mansions stable, the "big house" burnt to the ground in the 1940's and had been abandoned for years.

A sunset shot looking south out to the ocean from the grounds of the Castle Hill Inn. You can see the light of the Castle Hill light through the trees on the left side of the image.

On the way to work I stopped on a bluff over looking the Thames River in SE Connecticut to capture the mist hanging in the valleys at Sunrise
Your shot of the park is just great. The advice you received about Photoshop was correct, get Photoshop Elements (Version 10 for the Mac is the latest one out). It is a very powerful editing tool but because of the many training videos and manuals you can be up and editing fairly quickly. There is also Aperture which is a Mac based program that does a very good job as well although PSE is the more powerful of the two.
I have both PSE 10 for the Mac and Aperture, Aperture does a fairly good job for quick edits but the Photoshop elements gives you the abilty to really get into the weeds with layers etc.
