Welcome to Ugly Hedgehog's very first Photography Contest. This will be a community run Bi-Monthly contest, open to all members of Ugly Hedgehog.
The rules will be relatively simple.
1. Entry to have been taken in the last month unless otherwise specified by the contest host (please do not go thru your achieves).
2. Theme will be picked by the Contest Host.
3. Contest will run for 2 weeks, after which the Contest Host will pick the winner.
4. You may enter up to 3 photos per contest.
5. The entry must be your own work.
6. Entries to be uploaded directly by entrants to the Contest Thread.
7. Contest Host will be determined by the previous Contest.
8. New rules may be added as the Bi-Monthly Contest grows and morphs.
I do hope that the Contest Hosts will provide feedback as to why they picked the entry that they did, but please remember this is for fun. I have volunteered to manage the contest overall, that does not mean I will judge entries (unless I am the Contest Host that week), or sway judging.
So with that, here is the first challenge:
Theme: Your City/Neighborhood
Due: October 30, 2011
Winner will be selected by: November 4th
Please post your entries in this thread for consideration.
Good Luck and get there and shot something!

Great photo! But what is that stuff above the trees? OHHHH, CLOUDS!! I vaguely remember seeing some in the distant past. We just have lots and lots and LOTS of blue sky.
Joking, of course. It's a beautiful scene, and coming from across the river in southern Missouri it brings back memories!

Yes just post your photos in this thread (just like your reply). It will make it easier to find the images that are being entered and clog up the forum less.
End of the rainbow. Taken Oct 14, 2011.
End of the rainbow
Re-enactment of an c1840s yard-game, at nearby Lincoln Log Cabin State Park, Illlinois, Oct. 2011. The girl was supposed to have caught the hoop with her sticks, but she missed and realizes she's about to get smacked in the face. She recovered from the mishap and continued the game.
1840s Hoop & Sticks Game
Taken on Pittsburgh's artistic and drunken South Side. It is very much the people, people like these, who define where I live.
I shot this in Ilford PanF 50 film in a Canon AE1 with a 50mm lens and developed it at home. It captures a member of my community with the backdrop of his neighborhood.
A homeless man, also shot on Ilford PanF 50 in a Canon AE1 with a 50mm lens and developed at home.
A cool patron of The Bee Hive, a hip coffee lounge and bar. Shot on Kodak Portra 160NC in a Canon AE1 with that same 50mm lens.
