Take the computer and a matched pair of Seagate (used to be WD but they merged) 2tb hard drives ($70? each). Download pics through computer to each hard drive each night so you now have two copies. One in your carry on and one with a spouse, a friend or in a different bag of yours. Works like a charm and "no worries mon". Make it a daily routine!

Friend of mine who owned a camera store for a long time has moved south and started usedcameraguy.inc.

Mike can be reached at www.usedcameraguy.com. He buys, sells, works on consignment, trades whatever. Has sold some stuff for me since he started.

I like the Canon's with vibration reduction the best (a bit heavier but the vibration reduction works well) or Leica's without VR. Birding websites are a good source but often do not carry the Cannons with VR. I have used the Canons all over the world -- particularly good on safari or on boats while moving... Good luck

Well said, I have used them for 15 years without a failure but still always used in pairs with all pictures downloaded daily to both drives!

I like Moose Peterson branded bags. Used old series bags for years and around the world. Just bought one of the new series but have not field tested it yet.
Like how it is laid out, construction. http://moosepeterson.com

I agree with therwol. Small computer, 2 identical WD hard drives (now 4TB each), download EVERY NIGHT to BOTH hard drives, reuse cards. One hard drive travels in my wife's carry on and the other in my carry on. Been doing this while travelling around the world for 15 years with no drive failures and no lost pictures.

Really the only time you might want very long (Nikon 200-400 plus teleadapters for example) is for birds in flight. Otherwise 300 f4, 70-200 plus tele-adapters longest you need. We shot from zodiacs as well as walking so really big lens plus tripod will just sit. Suggest you buy waterproof bags for each lens/body with roll top seals like folks use for canoeing -- water and sand everywhere. Take a small, very lightweight backpack (in a roll top waterproof bag) for shore excursions and then select the gear you need for that particular walk, drive, zodiac ride. Guides can tell you what to expect on each excursion. Wonderful place! Enjoy.

I have had a whole series of these over the years as my pocket camera. Love the range, versatility and quality. My wife and kids have the hand me downs and everybody loves them. Can do everything on auto or manage what you want. ZS60 is their best yet. Worth every penny! ps, I also shoot Nikon D5, and D810
