Use an external drive. Then they don't fill up your computer and you still have access to them. External drives are inexpensive. I recently bought a 2Terabyte drive for around $60. Larger drives are available and you can find sales occasionally.

In my opinion, the raw files are worth saving. They are my originals and using Lightroom it's easy to reproduce the jpgs from them when needed. The jpgs are temporary files for viewing.

Thanks ,I will do that.

Most serious photographers would use what works best for them,

You know nothing about on what I based my comments. I did my own research on BBB website and talked to some other photographers I know that had less than stellar things to report about dealings with MPB. BBB had MPB at only 1.3 out of 5.0 rating with many poor reports.

I am also the administrator and moderator of a few Facebook Photography groups that are outside the UHH community, and I reached out to some of those members about their experiences with MPB. Many had good experiences, but others had poor experiences. Just the facts that are irrefutable by you or anyone else in UHH, sorry.

I do my research and I am about verifiable facts, not fiction, or emotion here.. You are getting all in a huff about MPB. MPB doesn't need you to defend them. As I said before in my comments, I believe all UHH commenters on their good and bad experiences with MPB.

MPB will do just fine without my business and I never asked anyone here in UHH to follow my decision to pass on them. Continue to report your good experiences and continue to use them and be happy. I personally will pass on them after doing my research. I have better options for my gear purchases.

I linked some of the BBB reports on them. Did you even look at those?

Cheers and best to you.

In any business there are good experiences and bad, I bought from this co. 4 times and all GREAT , no complaints, B& H very costly for me.

Storage is cheap.

Buy an extra card or two and save pictures as RAW & JPG. You can't go wrong with that.

I meant when you download them on your computer to correct them it takes alot of space on your computer, raw that is.

Yes. They can be edited in any editor but with reduced latitude.

The key is how close to the desired image your jpg can be produced by your camera. If extreme editing is required, raw is better. However as camera jpgs get better that situation will occur less frequently.

I shoot raw because it's insurance against those infrequent occurrences. And since Lightroom is my organizing system, everything goes into it, so it doesn't matter whether it's raw or jpg. I choose raw for the above reason. It doesn't cost me anything.

Yes it cost you space to use raw, that's why I shoot jpegs and l see very little difference .

Yes. But RT is strictly a parametric editor and so will not handle tasks more suited to a raster editor like re-touch work.

I also purchased a lens from them. Better than advertised condition, $1000 less than advertised on B&H and less than most listed on eBay. I received multiple emails from them double checking address, etc. Received a phone call from a customer service rep to double check order (it was an expensive lens). They walked me through delaying my delivery from Fed Ex as I wasn't going to be home on 1st predicted delivery day. I would purchase again from them without doubt!

I agree, the customer service , packing and lens are great would buy from them again snd it arived in 3 days.

Kudos to MPB photo, I ordered a lens from them and it was at my house in 3 days, not only that the lens was listed in EX. Condition but it was like new and the packing was surpurp it was packed in a heavy duty box and the lens was in another box with more packing very professional . You could see that they came along way in there business. I would purchase from them again any time. AAAA++++ to MPB PHOTO, Jim Bianco

If it would achieve what your other lenses would not, then go for it. It is not that expensive and even if it gives mediocre results, it is still something you would not have achieved otherwise.

Lenses would always have a sweet spot where it would give the best outcome. That is one thing one should try to find and make the best of.

I owned the Rokinon 14mm 2.8 for a few years. I sold it because I wasn’t using it often enough but the image quality was great. Here’s a bridal portrait I did in 2018.

Beautiful shot with this lens!!!!!

I've had my eye on this lens for a while as I love what you can do with the unique perspective you can get with ultra-wide lenses.

I used to shoot with a Sigma 15-30mm zoom on my F100 pretty much exclusively at 15mm. That particular lens had a pretty noisy AF and I eventually sold it.

Of course this lens is manual focus although they do have an autofocus version available for about 75% more money. I don't see the manual focus being much of a disadvantage as a 14mm lens will have an incredible depth of field.

MPB prices have come down for this lens to $179 for excellent condition for the one with the AE chip for Nikon. Without the chip you can get one for less, but the chipped version makes for an easier shooting experience.

They currently have one available.
