Dr Oppenheimer said of the staff at Los Alamos: "What we don't understand, we explain to each other". This isn't just a cute remark. It can happen.
I've sailed to St. Maarten and have good memories of the people and food there. The north half of the island is 100% French and equally friendly. If you sail around the island, drop anchor at one of the uninhabited Iles des Francais. A rare experience, then into the French town on north side St Marten. Jim
Thank you for the comment, Mike B. I notice that the number of rows of 'leaves' in that wonderful green cactus posted by Gargleblaster is 5, which is a number in the Fibonaccci Sequence. Jim
Those interested in learning more about Fibonacci should check the book "The Man of Numbers" by Keith Devlin. He made a huge contribution to western Europe by introducing the Hindu-Arabic number system to western Europe.
Fine restoration to original appearance. However, that 1931 Model A Ford is wearing a 1930 radiator cover. The 1931 cover had a band of body paint at the top of the front side. No criticism meant on a beautiful job.
Remember that the angle of view of any camera is determined by the focal length, that is the distance from the lens (exit focal point) to the sensor or film. You can shoot wide angle landscapes with a pinhole camera. Try it!
Read also: "Collapse - How societies fail or succeed", by Jared Diamond. One chapter is on the 600 years the Anasazi occupied Chaco Canyon and the several reasons they were not able to continue their culture there. If interested in this chapter, I think you will find the whole book worth reading.
It is important to have the color (measured in degrees kelvin) of the lights match the color sensitivity of the camera sensor,if you have a choice. If you are in the dark on this (ho,ho), shoot with different settings and compare.
Interesting to see Ravens in the High Desert. We saw many in the Queen Charlotte Islands, Canada and in Alaska. Occasionally, one is seen in Puget sound area. Good shots.
To B alexander: A nice shot you posted. The long shadows help. To me, the clouds are a little too dramatic for a pastoral scene but don't remove them.
PSB Your photo shows the focal length "300 mm" and a colon in the aperture ratio of "1:4". That colon is not meant as a decimal point. The front lens element should measure about 75 mm in diameter. A good lens; put it to work!
Great shot! I've been there.
Rails at infinity appear to converge, that is,to touch. If an optical system could show "beyond infinity", the rails would appear to cross! this doesn't happen.

Wonderful car; the reflected face is that of previous owner!
Three-wheel bikes are becoming more popular...again. I once had a three-wheel Morgan, then a 1953 Morgan Plus Four. The Three was more fun. Good old days.
