Come on, you guys, what is wrong with you ? Why do you tell this person that the photo is great ? I mean, look at it ! Really, look at it !!!!! What is great about it, huh ? For starters, the bird is ugly ! The background is nothing but boring, blurred out, cheap, vertical aluminum siding that is on the side of a shed or a run down mobile home in a trailer park. Then, on the far right edge of the photograph, the beak of another bird is poking into view like a sore thumb ! Yeah, that's really great, isn't it !!!!! Then, the pitiful looking main subject that is eating filthy looking birdseed is pretty much centered in the middle of this so called GREAT PHOTOGRAPH as the subject walks around in it's own feces ! Yeah, wow-zerrrs, oh boy, that is really great to look at, isn't it !

Let me ask you this ? Why are you lying to this person ? AND, what would you say to someone who really would post a great looking photograph ? Lord only knows what you would tell them, but whatever it would be, the fact that you are telling the person who made this photograph that this photograph is great would certainly diminish the sincerity of what you would be telling a person who really would post a great looking photograph ! You guys who sit around and flatter one another are either blind or you are brain dead WHACKOs ! ~ But it doesn't mean that I don't like you !

Meanwhile, I love ya all and have a great day !

It must be said that your photograph is ultimately creative and most worthy for being matted, framed, and placed on display. Over a period of time here upon our forum, I've seen many photographs of flowers that have been manipulated with post processing software such as Topaz and others of the same ilk, but I can honestly say to you that none of those others were as nicely done as is this one from the Martian's Garden. Of course, major problems will arise once all of your photographs become of this caliber, that is, unless you have a museum size home for placing them all on display. Very nice work and thank you for sharing!

During a hospital stay over a year ago, I was having invasive open heart surgery performed to replace an aortic heart valve that was defective and at the same time, a Nikon 810D camera body had been delivered to my home's residence and it has never been unwrapped nor removed from the original B&H cardboard shipping box in which it had been originally securely packaged within... Yes, that's right, I have a brand new Nikon 810D resting within a cardboard shipping box from B&H and packaged along with it is a Nikon Battery pack (aka: a vertical hand grip), several new lithium ion batteries, a battery charger, a high memory denomination memory card, a Sand-disk memory card, several B&W top of the line multi coated filters, and many more items of which I have now easily forgotten about ever since the day when I had first placed the original order for all of these items of which along with the order, the camera of which I speak was my very last (my 3rd order) for a Nikon 810D camera ! Best said, I own three Nikon 810D cameras and this one that I am offering to sell today is one that has never been removed from the shipping box in which it had been packaged in and shipped to me. Yes, it still remains in Nikon's original packaging too ! Warranty cards and all !

My main reason for listing this camera and its component items for sale is because I have never unpackaged it, used it, nor intend to use it, and I no longer want to see it sitting idle knowing that someone other than myself can and will appreciate owning it and putting it to good use, especially, knowing that it is one of the very best high quality cameras that remains being made today. I don't need to tell you about this particular Nikon Model nor do I need to tell you what it can do. I feel that you already know what it is and what it can do ! So, with this in mind, I suggest that if you are interested in owning a camera of this caliber, please give your consideration to purchasing it and then, make me an offer. Like I have said, my goal is not to fill my pockets with your money, but I will be more than happy to see that it is sold to you at a fair price whereby we both will walk away knowing that we treated one another fairly.

Being that my health is no longer what it once had been, I will reiterate to you that I do remain having the unopened shipping box containing this brand new Nikon 810D camera body ~ along with the other items which have been listed above as well and should anyone among you have an interest in purchasing the camera body separately or along with any of or all of the other items which I have listed above, please shoot me a private message and we will discuss the details regarding prices and how we can go about making a transaction for you to become the new owner of one of the very best cameras that has ever been made to date ! As a side note, I am not interested in profiting money nor do I care about conducting a transaction whereby I end up with a pocketful of your money, therefore; should you have an interest in owning this camera, it's vertical battery pack grip, its batteries, charger, memory cards and several top of the line B&W filters, please get with me via a private message and then we will see what can be done, (what I can do) to make it happen for you.

Best Regards,

Very cleverly expressed ! Thank you !!!! :sm24

p.s. Hopefully, your reference to a toxic noxon camera was not in any way targeting one of my noxon 810D cameras ?????? If so, I shall forever cry because I am the proud owner of three of them! Even worse, during a hospital stay over a year ago at the very same time when I was having invasive open heart surgery performed to replace an aortic heart valve that was defective, one of my Noxon 810Ds had been delivered to my home's residence and it has never been unwrapped nor removed from the original B&H cardboard shipping box in which it had been originally securely packaged within... On a more serious note, being that my health is no longer what it once had been, I do have the brand new Nikon 810D camera body ~ along with the other items which I have aforementioned above and if anyone among you may have an interest in purchasing the camera body separately or along with any of or all of the other items which I have listed above, please shoot me a private message and we will discuss the details regarding prices and how we can go about making a transaction for you to become the new owner of one of the very best cameras that has ever been made to date ! Jerry, is it possible that a tired old teacher, a recluse farmer, or a possible scab-like, non-union carpenter has replied to you, seemingly, suggesting that whenever a pilot takes a poor quality camera aboard an aircraft, such happens, albeit, the truth might be that whenever a pilot takes a prestigious, high quality Nikon camera aboard an inferior aircraft that is accustomed to having disposable, throw away, entry level cameras being aboard, ~ those cameras mostly having been manufactured by Canon, Sony, Olympus, or even a few older model Brownie Hawkeyes tossed in just for the fun of it, a 4,400' plummet, more likely than not, assuredly, can be expected?

Ronbongoeldingonodongo, in lieu of writing "I wonder how you or her would have reacted", do you think that the correct way to write it would have been to write, "I wonder how you or she would had reacted?" I mean, come on Eldingonodongo man, get with the program and learn to express yourself by using the correct words in the English language, ok?

Subject at 60' ... light changing a little.

Nikon D7200 with Nikon 300 2.8 and Nikon TC17.

TC17 made my 2.8 a 4.8.

Shot without TC17 was cropped to approx same size.
Both images straight from camera reduced to 10" wide.

The image without the converter is the better of the two, but in a pinch, both are acceptable. Bottom line: I wouldn't worry too much about going either way.

I have posted two shots. They were taken moments apart (the time it took me to remove the 1.4 telextender).
The lens is a Nikon 200~400 f4 and the telextender is a Nikon TC-14II 1.4x. The distance was approx. 100 yards
and a tripod was used.
One shot had the lens set bit under 300mm and using the telextender, the other shot was at 400mm. No post processing done.
I did this to see the effect of using the telextender.

I cannot see any difference in quality whatsoever.

Hi Everyone ,
Ive been Using my Nikon D200 for a few years now with Great Results .

Thing is Ive had this Craving to Buy a Full Frame Perhaps a D610 ..
My main reason is for Better Bokeh , Wider View etc ..

Is it really worth it I ask .. Massive outlay of money .. and of course I will need
all new lenses ..

Has anyone made the switch ? do you think you gained much ( apart from the prestige ..lol )

Comments welcome
Thanks

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I made the switch several years ago and, yes, it was well worth it because I wanted my images made into very large sized prints. If you don't require large prints, I would suggest that you keep that which you have and forget making the change.

What is the filter (or procedure) of adding a gritty black coal-dust-looking graininess to shadow parts of images? I suppose the intent is to give an "antiqued" effect. The appearance is somewhat like noise, but all black and more coarse. (I'd ask the individual, but an earlier constructive comment I offered (assuming people here wanted ideas for improving their work) was not liked and I am blocked from that discussion.)

Good morning, Bcrawf, I would like to provide information to you about your query, but I am unable to recall the name of it at the moment, even though its name is on the tip of my tongue ! Also, please accept my empathy in regards to your being blocked from a conversation by one of our overly sensitive members. In the not so distant past, I had the same thing happen to me when I had critiqued one of our member's photographs, even though the member had asked for critiquing ! Yep, I found out the hard way that when this member had asked for critiquing, he was really asking for dishonest critiquing which would only give praise to him for his work and he really didn't want to hear the truth! If you would like, send me a private message and give me the name of the person who blocked you. Perhaps, this person in one in the same who had blocked me !

Take care and I send my best regards,

And that point makes absolutely no sense, unless it is you that is either obsessed or feeling guilty. Nothing bad comes of nude photography unless you do it the wrong way or break the rules. This also isn't just a male related thing. Who suggested that the subjects had to be female and the photographer male? I've photographed nude men and women, and have also modeled for men and women. Some straight, some gay. Sex doesn't come into it. Just creating an image. My wife is sometimes present and sometimes not. She likes to know what's going on, but doesn't have an issue. One event raised over $3,000 for charity, and she left the room so other people wouldn't feel inhibited to bid as the clothes came off.

I think that it could be you, Sir, that has the attitude and possibly psychological or guilt problems to deal with here.
And that point makes absolutely no sense, unless i... (show quote)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I appreciate the respect you've given me with your response to me, however; if I may correct you, please know that I have no guilt about the matter whatsoever. Rather, I think there is too much ado about this nude photography discussion today whereas too much attention is being given to it. In other words, people who otherwise never have much to say about much of anything on our forum have jumped upon the nude photography bandwagon today and they have taken something that is otherwise natural and made it into something to be glorified and open for discussion beyond all practical means. Nudity should be taken for what it is and then we should move on, yet; for some unknown reasons, several of our members seem to want to extend the conversation, if allowed, into the wee hours of another new day.

People as yourself and I have been blessed in our lifetimes whereas nudity is nothing out of the ordinary to us or for us ! Whenever you or I photograph someone who is nude or should we ourselves be photographed nude, we are capable of treating it to be routine whereas we have the wherewithal to leave it at just that, however; upon the opposite end of the spectrum, we have a few members who want to dwell upon the subject to extreme whereas they are proving themselves to be inexperienced neophytes and the attention they are giving to nudity proves that they are not accustomed to nudity nor can they handle the attention nudity in this situation gives unto them. In other words, those of us who have been blessed with good physiques and men as ourselves who are handsome ~ we can take or leave nudity for what it is. The neophyte, on the other hand, makes too much ado about it whereas we have exactly that which we are experiencing today !

[quote=Reinaldokool]

The human body is a great work of art. Unfortunately we live in culture of anti-nudity unless it is used to sell beer or Harleys.

Some suggestions:
First. Get a release. It may have whatever restrictions on use that the model wishes such as that you cannot use it commercially or you cannot publish it or you cannot print it except for . . . But get the release that protects you from her family, heirs, etc. ever suing you. Sample releases are available on the internet and there are references on the Hog.

Second. If you want greater than 8x10 you should go to a professional printer after checking her policies re nudity. If you are happy with 8x10, some of the newer, inexpensive printers will do a very credible job.

Third. Soft-focus can be great. Soft lighting also. But focus sharply on eyes. Soft-focus does not mean out of focus.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I find it amazing how so many grown men have gone on and on about this subject for most of all of this day.. Men today have dwelled on this subject and they are men who normally don't post on our UHH forum at all, yet; being that the subject is nude women, overindulgence is the name of the game today with most all of you men who seem to be unable to drop this subject and put it to rest !

I am a happily married man, but before my marriage, my life was that of a male rock star. I cannot count the amount of nude women I've been with and before I met my precious loving wife, being with several women in one day was the norm. Women chased after me and because I led a life with women chasing after me, today's subject is nonsense and I say this because having nude women in my life is "OLD HAT" to me and my wild oats had been taken care of years ago ! Men, get over yourselves and PLEASE put this subject to rest ! Enough is enough !

Many of you men are probably not good looking and you never had the chance to be surrounded with lots of women whereby today's subject is exciting for you and equally exciting to chat about. Although I retired as a design engineer for a major truck manufacturing company, I played lead guitar, sang, and played an electric keyboard in a rock band back in the 1970s and 1980s. Women "Groupies" chased after me and having two or three nude women gathered after a night's performance was nothing unusual whatsoever ! I have always been handsome and even at my age today, women still flirt with me, but I have eyes for only my wife !

Conclusion: I suggest that the OP forgets taking the nude photographs and like I said previously, nothing good will come of it ! Grow up, men, and I am sorry that you didn't have the chance with women in your lives that I had in mine !

Politely tell your friend that you are not interested and then move on. There is nothing to be gained by your taking the nude photos and doing so could very likely cause you problems later on.. If I were you, I'd pass !
