I'm with you. I don't hunt with a rifle. I only hunt with a Canon.

I hunted many years ago and I am sorry I did that now,I also shot with a Cannon,it it a better way to capture wild life.

Good photos, lucky you. For many many years I took slide photos and switched to digital about 15/20 years ago. Then about 8 years ago I bought a slide converter to move the slides to my computer. Disaster struck, when I looked at the slides they were in poor shape, they had mold or fungus on most of the images. I saved some but really only for the memories, they cannot be printed to look good. In my haste and disgust I trashed all of the slides before I thought about sending some off to be cleaned, to see if they could be saved. Probably thirty years of photos gone.
Good photos, lucky you. For many many years I took... (show quote)

Thank you,I know how you must feel,I have tons of old photos and if they were lost I would miss them.

I like the pictures of the turkey hens the best. I notice that they are banded. Is this banding done by your state parks & wildlife?
Great set of pictures. Thanks for posting them.
Lelon.

Hi, thank you.The state of Delaware set out several pares of wild turkeys back in the early 90s,and they took hold very well. There are turkeys everywhere now and they have a special hunting season for them.I would never hunt them I would rather take thier photo.

This bird, about the size of an American Robin, appears to be quite common in Bermuda. I cannot find it in Silbey's book. Can anyone identify it? Thanks.

Hi, That is a real pretty bird, real nice shot.My ship stopped in Bermuda when I was in the US NAVY,but back then I was not a bird watcher.

This little bird constantly eludes me...as soon as it spots me it takes off...I did manage to get a few faraway shots though.

My wife caught this Turkey Vulture in the back yard. We had roasted a duck then stripped the bones and boiled them for soup stock. When done with them we dumped the bones behind the house thinking the local coyote would like a snack. The next day she saw this magnificent bird in the back yard apparently picking up the bones. After the vulture left my wife went out to see what was left and nary a bone was found.

Good shot but it is a bad practice to place cooked bones out for wildlife. They can eat raw bones but cooked bones can cause them to choke and die.
