This little bird constantly eludes me...as soon as it spots me it takes off...I did manage to get a few faraway shots though.

Perseverance pays off...good for you! The only way I get this bird (and it is one of my favorites) is by sitting in a blind.

Curious that it chooses different perches. I thought they generally have a favourite perch which they return to after diving for fish.

Thank you so much Marsha for understanding the difficulty shooting them...and it's really great to know you liked them! Lol...I definitely need a blind...the Eagles treat me in the same fashion😱
