There is software from Stardock.com called "Start8" that will boot your computer to a Win7 desktop that looks just like Windows 7. Cost is $4.99

I have a HP 2000 laptop that I've had about a year and I'm
really happy with it, but I just can't get use to the mouse
pad. I bought an external mouse and it's so herky jerky
that it's very hard to use.
Is there a brand of external mouse that you good folks
here on UHH would recommend?
Thanks a lot.
r.
Logitech M325, small, made for using with laptop. About $20 at Staples
Congratulations! Brown is due here tomorrow with my D810 and again Tuesday with my Nikon 14-24 f/2.8.
D800, D7100, RX-100
70-200 f2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, 105G f/2.8, TC-20EIII, 18-200 f/3.5, 50 f/1.8, 35 f/1.8
You sir, must be independently wealthy
I take it you've essentially filled the hard drive with photos. It might be less of an expense to purchase an external HD, copy the existing photos to that, verify that they are there, then delete them from the existing internal HD. The expense will be quite a bit less.

What about a bridge camera, the Panasonic FZ200, or the Canon SX-50?
Don't you think this has gone far enough with all the snide remarks. It was not my intention when I asked the question about lens hoods. I simply wanted information, not a bunch of name calling!!!
Thanks for all the advice, I ordered the Canon hood from B&H, it's a new hood for the 10-18mm, was $27.95 on back order. Supposed to be in stock 7/21/14.

With wideangles I would go with the recommended Canon model.
The one recommended for this lens is EW-73C
Thanks lighthouse, I was fairly certain that's what you meant.

No.
The correct lens hood will not interfere with your field of view.
An incorrect one will though.
Because of the large field of view it is very hard for a lens hood to cut out all the extraneous light, I use a broad brimmed hat as well for many wideangle shots that I take.
Does "the correct lens hood" mean a Canon hood, or is there some other brand that will work also?
Considering getting the Canon 10-18mm ultra wide angle lens and wondering how important a lens hood is for this type of lens? Would it interfere with the field of view at all?
