I go for the last too…love the peeling paint and rust in the B&W…not so much for the safety yellow handrails though. Nice set

Since both the basketball players and/or flying birds would be moving subjects, my approach to capturing them in focus would be the same. Why wouldn’t it?

I would begin with BBF, AF-C using a zone pattern to track…your mileage may vary. The custom tracking settings are easy to experiment with. Get to a game that holds no personal player interest for you to experiment with and find the mode that delivers best for you.

Using a 1.4 TC will reduce your maximum aperture by about 1 stop…so your 2.8 lens will effectively be stopped down to a 4.0 max. If you are shooting wide open you will realize the 1 stop difference in aperture and DOF.
