I feel sorry for you and the women (if any) in your life. You really have no clue.

Apparently they don’t agree with you at all. But of course they aren’t required to support your anti American bulls**t agenda of h**e.

Every one of them would tell you to shove your opinion up your lying ass. Don’t make the mistake of telling me I am something I am not and never will be just to suit your political agenda.

The mistake was mine Im sending you a clip from wiki in a pm

No worries. I just saw the clip. Interesting read. They were/are great revolvers. I have passed up a couple of New Service Shooing Masters in 44 Special and 357 Magnum. I am still kicking myself.

Over 24 million people work directly for Federal, State, and Local governments.

Federal contractors employ over 19 million people.

Then there are state and local government contractors...I couldn't find numbers for those in the brief time I spent looking.

Thus, America is pretty heavily on the side of Socialism.

Was there some kind of point you are trying to make?

The 1917 S&W used 45 long colt & 45ACP with two half moon clips

Unless I am grossly mistaken the 1917 was only chambered in 45 ACP but could also use 45 Auto Rim (designed in 1920) cartridges so as not to have to use the half moon clips on the rimless 45 ACP. The 1917 was produced because the wartime American forces did not have enough 1911 pistols needed so Colt and S&W began chambering their Colt New Service and S&W large frame revolvers for the 45 ACP.

The Colt New Service was made in numerous calibers starting in 1897. Calibers included 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 38-40, 44-40, 44 Special, 45 Colt, 45 ACP, and 455 Eley.

If you believe in police and fire department protection you are a socialist.

Yes we are all Socialists in some regard. Police, Fire, Post Office, Social Security and a few other provisions we the American people share lean toward Socialism. But that does not in any sense of the word mean we are a SOCIALIST country. Are you capable of understanding that or are you just trying to be an ASS.

OK then so you cannot prove I said what you said I did can you? I thought so. Just another LYING corrupt Left Winger running your mouth with no intention of trying to post accurate information. Now why am I not surprised.

Very subjective.
The background in the second one is distracting - too busy and it looks like a road is visible.
The first one has a much more natural setting.
Good luck!

Thanks very much Jeff for your comments. I will be entering both and hopefully maybe one will win.

Greetings.

Today I attended an event (ok, it was the Acro-Cats, a traveling show of trained cats. Please don’t laugh.) Photography was encouraged but “professional “ cameras were not allowed, by which they meant cameras with interchangeable lenses.

I’m planning for the next such event. Since bridge are mostly gone now, what camera would you recommend? Preferably cheap. Possibly used. Probably with a relatively long focal length.

Thanks!!!!!

I have had for at least a few years now a Sony RX10IV and have found it to do about 98% of what my interchangeable cameras could do. If I could own only one camera that would be the one to keep as far as I am concerned. Quality is excellent in the build of the camera, it feels solid and image quality is as high as can be when I do my part.

Thank you very much sippy. I did check with the woman in charge of the event and she said up to 5 entries in each category were acceptable. Looks like 1 and 2 will be entered.

Yes, judging in general is very personal. I judge visual arts for a pageantry circuit locally so am in tune with how *we* do it, and those individuals involved with adjudication. We are experts in our field, and I would expect no less from a contest ran by a reputable organization in our visual medium. Criteria is key, and any contest on the up-and-up would have such for the judges to use
as a base for their commentary. But, realistically, judges are human and subject to their experience when looking at *anything* much less ranking something esoteric like photos. I like to think most, if not all, adjudicators have a sense of responsibility toward their task and are serious about their judgment(s)...and I think that's all you can ask for. But an advantage would be to know what the criteria is any given event, neh? In our marching band shows tailoring our shows to the judges criteria (AKA "writing to the sheets") is bottom line...if you don't it becomes even more of a dice shoot.

One thing to remember when entering contests or any sort of competition. This was drilled in to me when I was doing horse shows. Every time you enter, you're paying for one person's opinion. That's all.

Thank you very much AzPicLady. That makes sense.
