This is one of the most interesting photographs I have seen. I'm drawn into the entire scene. What a wonderful composition. Thank you for sharing.

You have to admit that it is a very unusual combination of elements, a man with character, a junk stall and a girl climbing. How could you not photograph this? Pretty unique eh?

Don't comment on the processing as the original was almost unusable due to extreme contrast :-)

Bauble is always ready to run for his life. It's rare to catch him relaxed and sunning himself, but here's a shot of him doing exactly that.

Welcome to UHH. If you want to photograph flies you might want to consider a macro lens. There are lots of experienced close up and macro shooters that can give you great advise. They also have close up and macro forums. Good luck.

Hello everyone, I'm hoping to get into some DSLR photography a little more than in the past. I would like help in deciding which camera to get. I use to shot with a Canon AE1 for years, two years ago bought a Fiji FX33WP which I use for fly fishing because it's waterproof and does what I need it to do. I will be shooting different things, some close ups of insects and flies I tie, Grand daughter and grand son plus some wildlife shots. I've been looking at the Nikon and Canon cameras and have been leaning towards the Nikon D 3100 and D3200 with their 18-55 VR and the 70-200 VR. I also was thinking of getting one of these with an 18- 110 I think it was. I won't be enlarging the photos over 11x17 if that big. Most will be used on my angling website for insect identification. I know a true macro would probably be a better choice but want as much versatility as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for this input. I'll look a Topaz.

Pine, I got the NIK suite when Google bought them and began offering all the programs as a bundle for $150. I am impressed with all of the modules. Recently, at a seminar i attended the seminar leader, a professional photographer, told the group that Google will continue to support the programs but will not be upgrading them, that Google bought them for their technology only. He said this came from an executive from a Google that he works with. I don't know this to be true but can say there have been no updates, tweaks or improvements since the purchase. Would I buy this today? I think so but perhaps I would go with Topaz instead... ;)

I think I'll listen to Ametha in this instance. Meanwhile, I'll add a 14-24 f2.8 and a 24-70 f2.8 since they will work well on my D7100. When I develop better skills than I have now I'll step up to the D800. I appreciate all the good advise.

Thank you, I read the review you posted.

Pine, reading this will help you decide which format is best for you. http://photographylife.com/nikon-dx-vs-fx
You could keep your D7100 and add the D610 and have the best of both. For me, the D610 wins but for you it may be the D7100. Nikon makes both for a reason(s)... ;)

There appears to be very little discussion on the Nix Efix 7 plug-ins. I would really like to hear some opinions on the value of this program. I use Mac's, LR5 and CS6.

No, not at all.

The D7100 is excellent. Have you exceeded it's capabilities in any way?

I am considering jumping to FX. I have a D7100 and I like it but I feel like I am missing something or maybe I'm just nuts. I have 2 FX lenses (105 f2.8G & 70-200 f2.8 II). I have looked at the D610 and the D800. Am I making a mistake?

This reminds me of an image of Ernest Hemingway. I love it.

I'm not experienced or talented enough to even comment. This is a wonderful shot and makes me think of "running out of time."

I suggest you post this in the Photo Analysis Section. You will get lots of help and be sure to check the little box that says (store original). Had I come across the caribou I would have probably forgotten to take my lens cap off.

Can anything be done to this picture to get the two caribou jumping at each other clearer? Thanks for any suggestions.

Excellent learning tool for effect of manual control, or do it all with the PC. Set the camera on a tripod. Use stand for PC setup. Set all settings from the PC. Shoot!
