What kind of comment is that?

Nothing important, just a pesky fly who does nothing other than buzz around the poop of its own making.

I ignore all its comment.

One missed occasion to post in the gallery.

It is spring there too.

Over exposed, B&W rendition is atrocious.

Do post an original w/o any post-processing and in the WEBP format. It will appear as a link but will be viewable once the download is used.

Your images are sharp. They look a bit over processed. You might want to post the unprocessed image, so one can see w/o the post-production interference.

I am not sure what the pushback is about, it is not justified.

You folks need to learn to download the image BEFORE making comments.

See the little + on your screen after you download? That allows yo to see the image close-up.

Not sharp hey?

Too many around my place, these things are destructive and eat whatever, including bird's eggs.

Personally, I shoot them.

Good for stew but very little meat if roasted.

In the last couple of years, I have collected around 50 tails... One no later than last week.

Note that the UK recognize this specie as aggressive, and a danger to their native squirrels. The result is that they are trying to exterminate them with some success. Since the female reproduces twice a year and has 4 to 6 pups...

I finally need to purchase the Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom bundle. Is it better to do the monthly or, the yearly subscription? I assume purchasing from Adobe is best.

Any insight here before I make a purchase?

Thanks!

Yearly. This avoids interruptions if your CC is ever compromised.

Your choice should be dictated by your wallet.

I've been using PSE 2018 since it came out and it's served me well. Still works as good as new but is getting to be a bit long of tooth and I'm guessing there've been some improvements. Adobe is offering me a 30% discount on the 2034 version so I'd like hear what others think of the edition.

You will have to wait 10 years to get feedback on that one... (j/k)

Previous post (GAS and use) is right on.

Check Sippy in the art section, he is drawing with an art board. Rongnongno, thank you for the prompt... artboards are not super expensive and are another tool in our photo modification toolbox.

For adding text I use Lightshot a free program

There is no need to use anything else when you have PS CC. All the fonts (including extras) are free already...

Which is why you don't create a black-and-white image by simply desaturating, but in the case of the high pass, desaturating works well for eliminating unwanted color artifacts from the high pass layer. No reason to not use a black and white adjustment I suppose...

See the difference between the two as illustrated? That is why.
Desaturation DOES NOT create a B&W image, which is what is needed.
How can a high pass filter work well if colors have the same luminosity value?
High pass uses contrast to create the sharpening effect.

That's not the only reason the comparison is not valid. All of the images are shot at different exposure settings. Some at far lower ISO's than others and they have wildly varying shutter speeds. In order to be valid they should all have the same ISO and shutter speed settings as well.

You are correct, but having this simple issue completely off is interesting.

Desaturating eliminates chromatic aberration from the high pass layer. You can create that layer first and then desaturate it, accomplishing the same thing.

A tip I saw once for setting the radius value is to begin with 20% of the megapixel count of the image. Example 5 MP image divided x 5 = radius of 1.

Desaturating is not creating a B&W image, regardless of what it is or what the purpose is.

When using desaturation, all color information is equalized instead of keeping the different value each has.

Desaturation has its use, just not to create a B&W image.

Please note that I made a mistake in the process by mentioning desaturation instead of B&W layer.
I corrected it, thank you for drawing my attention to it.

Good one...

AI seems to believe dogs are more important than humans since it reproduces them better... Now, THAT is an ego buster!
