I agree that the watermarks are distracting. In a majority of the pictures, it can be cropped out by someone wanting to use your photo which quite frankly doesn't serve your purpose. You may consider using two lines and putting it in another area of each photo. Probably the bottom right works on most.
Nice series! When possible, try to keep the background in mind. Best to keep it neutral, especially when you want to enlarge to frame or make a poster. Keep shooting.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. The only cars I had while I was young(er) were a '62 Austin Healy Sprite, a '80 Nissan 280X T-top and a '75 Mercedes 450SL. I now drive a very dependable '03 Mercedes SL500, but may opt for a 2013+ Porsche Panamera if I can trade the SL and a Lexus GS300 together, both with lower miles. Having grown up in the Finger Lakes, I spent a fair amount of time at Watkins Glen raceway.
Here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment.
Here are some fun photos from the annual historic auto festival parade at Lime Rock this past Thursday. Some of the backgrounds could have been better, but I was shooting from suggested spots given to me by locals based on a parade route map. Unfortunately, the beginning was changed and according to the map, the ending should have been over the red bridge as planned. More than likely the first car made the wrong turn and everyone followed, not allowing me to shoot with proper backgrounds.
D3 Especially at night.
And... D300 for the extra natural reach during the daytime.
Either lens, you're going to be using a tripod (landscape) or monopod (sports). I do handhold occasionally for some impromptu shots.
I have an older AF model and it's been pretty good depending on the quality of the lights on the field. Bump up the ISO and keep fairly tight photos and you should be pleased with the results. The other option is to shoot manual focus, but be prepared to adjust and fire. I bought my Nikon 4 years ago with case and 1.4X teleconverter for $700 and love it.
I don't mind the spacing in the new format, but do think there is a lot of wasted space to the right. Why not set up two columns?
Thanks for all the great pictures of eagles posted in this site. They are all wonderful to view! When you get a chance, share your favorites (top three) with our group. THX

I use Firefox in both computers with no problems to report (knock wood). Both machines use Windows 7.
One computer is Windows 10. The other two are Windows 7. Both crash often. Wonder what the problems are?
It literally crashes every other day, regardless of which of three computers I use. This is a reminder to change.
Good advice! Thanks. As I remember, someone told me to meter to the field level and trust it. Will have to experiment as you suggest.
