Another Australian native, the Australian Magpie. Some also in southern New Guinea.
Three pics, Dad, Junior and Mum...
Interesting facts about the Australian magpie...
They have four toes, three facing forward and one backwards. The Australian Magpie forages on the ground with their strong beaks feeding on insects, worms, small lizards, frogs and beetles. Being used to humans, they take handouts of food and will often head into open houses to beg for food.

How nice you got to shoot the whole family! Beautiful shots!!

We had our first big snowfall of the year, so I decided some color from the fall would be a good thing to post. These flowers are courtesy of the neighbors' efforts.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Beautiful colorful flowers, mike, that have brightened up the wet cloudy cold day around here!

The real standout feature of the G9 X II is its size. While not as thin as a modern smartphone, it's still small enough to throw in your jeans pocket and take everywhere. At 20MP and capturing RAW, I find I'm using this camera more and more. Here's a few recent captures of Gabby cat, captured in RAW and processed in Adobe Lightroom v6.

The PowerShot G9 X Mark II is a pocketable camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and an 28-84mm equivalent F2.0-4.9 lens. The camera offers solid quality build, a broad feature set, a pop-up flash, and an intuitive touch-based interface.

Both images were captured at ISO-6400 in the ambient light, forgoing the camera's pop-up flash, nor additional noise processing after the LR-only tools.

A wet day-37F at our yard, breezy and dreary! All of the birds in this set are Wet! Along with the photographer and his weary, arthritic bones...

Noted the Varied Thrush bouncing through the woods out front so I grabbed my Z9 with 600pF attached and tried a few shots. Low-light-ISOs above 9000- and just gloomy. Perhaps this Is a great setting for vampire movies...

With most of the broad-leaf cover gone, the birds must move in the rain between trees where something to eat may be found. Little cover except near to tree trunks and some find heath we have on our property sheltering. Few leaves=easier to see them as they move through the trees. No robins yet-thrush often move together.

Download and enjoy!

Thank you so much Merry. They are beautiful creatures. They are a little skittish and tough to photograph. They don't perch often so that's what makes the hunt more challenging.
