to me
Hi, Lesley! Thank you for thinking of me. I'm as fine as I can be at 91. I've been working on an article for about six months that has consumed my time, and part of the problem is the slowness and increasingly erratic performance of my 14-year-old Dell Dimension 3000 desktop XP system. But I didn't want to go through the distraction of learning a new operating system at my age. My daughter and son-in-law are Apple enthusiasts, which would be an even more dramatic conversion. But my son-n-law has been successfully using an interface system called Parallels to link his workplace MS XP system with an Apple system. He persuaded me that I can save all my stuff including the XP operating system, transferring it into a Mac Mini so I can shed the large tower. This will dramatically improve my net performance (he says). He started the conversion but a few weeks ago he and my daughter left on a trip to Denmark before he completed the transfer, leaving me with the old system still operating. They are returning today so I hope I can soon return to UHH when my article is complete. You can post this to the Hog if you want.
