MI Mac Mini/Big Sur Operating System

To access the three icons to close, minimize, or go to full screen I click on the top upper left of my monitor. This works for every software except LR. The icons just do not show up. I have to use Command M to minimize or Command W to close.

I used to have those icons--any ideas on how to get them back?

Our sunups and sundowns have been eye-popping here in mid-Michigan this week thanks to the western wildfires. The sun is an orange-ish ball outlined in red with no light bleeding into the sky around it. You can look right at the sun when it's many degrees above the horizon. It looks so fake that, had I not shot the image myself, I'd have bet $$ it wasn't real.

It is a 2-shot composite to keep the foreground from being underexposed.

(The deer just wandered into the scene!). My brother just sent me an article saying it's a bad idea to look at these smoke-screened suns because the smoke doesn't filter the UV rays!

I am able to see the photos when looking at the card, and I can then copy them into a subfolder in the Documents folder where they are able to import successfully. But ugh, what a pain to have to do all the time.

I have an M1 Mac Mini. When I plug a card reader into the USB port the folder icon for the reader pops up on the Desktop. When I open that folder from the Desktop, I can see and open the files in various preview softwares. However, when I try to import those inages into LR, I can see the folder icon for the reader on the left side Source screen, but when I select it LR says it can't find any photos. There is an arrow next to the folder icon, but when I click on it LR does not see the folders inside the card. I do have "Include Subfolders" checked.

Ideas on why LR cannot see the folder or images on the card? Thx.

Thx, Bob. I did find a page on Topaz indicating machines with the M1 chip are experiencing issues that they hope to resolve soon. So it's likely related to that.

I uninstalled Denoise AI, installed Rosetta, reinstalled Denoise but I still can't see it in PS.

I installed Topaz Denoise AI, Remask, and Studio on am M1 Mac Mini. When an image is open in LR I can choose "Edit In" and open the image in AI or Remask but not in Studio, which is not showing in the list of programs I can choose from. When an image is open in PS, the Topaz products do not appear in the Filter menu as they did on my Windows machine and I do not have a way to open them in Topaz via PS.

Not sure what to do. Ideas?

Thanks everyone. I decided to sidestep the issue of the external drive by copying my LR catalog onto my new mac hard drive. Then I followed the Adobe support page instructions on linking the catalog to LR on mac and things went smoothly. I will eventually transfer everything back to an external drive, but have decided to spend the time needed to select the ideal external drive for me.

Bottom line, couldn't have done it without the generous and savvy UHH members sharing their expertise. Thanks a million!

I need to migrate LR from a windows machine to an Apple mac. My LR catalog is on an external hard drive that I plan to plug into the Mac. I read an article that indicated this may be an issue, but did not have detailed advice on how to deal with this situation. Hoping someone who has done this can offer advice.

If you use an M1 Mac Mini and Topaz Denoise AI, can you tell me about how long it takes a good size file (30 mb raw approx) to process in Denoise?
