Harvey, You're absolutely right, none of us really knows how it all went down. And at this point neither does the jury! I think the prosecution has done a pretty poor job so far. They have rested their case so now we'll have to see how they do on cross.

I think I should point out a few things about Neighborhood Watch programs. These programs, at least the ones I'm familiar with are supervised by the local police or sheriff's departments. They are simply devised in a way the residents can become the eyes and ears for the Police. They DO NOT patrol their community. In fact they are instructed by the police to NEVER make any attempt to follow or confront anyone they suspect is suspicious. They are instructed to first call the police and then put their Telephone network into action. The Telephone Network is set up this way. There is a community leader and he is notified by the resident that saw the suspect right after they called the police. The community leader then call each of his block leaders who in turn calls three people on his block and they each call three other people on their block. Those three people each call three more people and so on. It only takes five or six minutes to inform every resident in the community what's going down. They are instructed to simply stay inside their home and observe what ever is going on outside, gather description and locations of anyone they see and relay that to the police via the phone. Again I emphasize that's all they are supposed to do. They are NOT EVER supposed to leave their house, follow or try to detain any suspicious individual. Now all that being said, I don't know if Zimmerman's Neighborhood Watch was set up by the police and given the same instructions I have explained here, but Zimmerman lives in Sanford Florida and my experience with the Neighborhood Watch systems was in Miami Florida. It's my understanding that all of the law enforcement departments in the state use the system I have described. The last thing most law enforcement people want to see is an armed resident patroling the neighborhood trying to apprehend someone he thinks is suspicious.

I am already convinced that over a third of this country is populated with brain dead morons, and I see that UH isn't immune to them trolling here. All these claims that Martin is dead so therefore Zimmerman is guilty of murder, plain and simple and any other explanation is just a right wing fantasy is moronic beyond common reason. His own statement, witness statements and the physical evidence of bruises and cuts to the back of his head, all indicate that Zimmerman was on his back with this media created alter boy on top of him smashing his head into the sidewalk. Shoot him in the leg? Did he deserve to die, he was only 17? Etc. Etc. Etc. Are you people on some mind altering drug? If someone is assaulting you and you fear for your safety, or your very life, you are perfectly justified to protect yourself. I defy any of you who are sheading tears for this punk to tell me that if someone had you on the ground and was smashing your head into the sidewalk, that you would have the presence of mind to reason it all out or worry about what would happen to your attacker if you pulled out your gun in self-defense.

OMG, I can't believe that I'm actually agreeing with Rixpix, but alas it's true.

His point here is spot on, until that fetus is viable (about 10 weeks) I don't believe that anyone has the right to tell a woman she must endure a pregnancy she does not wish to carry. Now she's bound to know that she's pregnant within three to four weeks, that gives her another 6 to 7 weeks to determine if she does or does not want to carry that fetus to term. If she hasn't made up her mind by then, then the fetus becomes a viable being, and she loses that "choice".


The vast majority of those opposed to abortion are basing that objection on religious grounds, and while Rixpix and I disagree greatly on that subject, the fact is that most who oppose a woman's right to choose are attempting to force their beliefs and their own moral code upon another person, no one has that right. As for the argument about murdering your children that is a stupid comparison, as I said I do believe there should be a limit on how long an abortion is legal, but many of these arguments are just plain asinine.
