I can't believe anyone can say the things Trump said and not only stay in the race but win it. God knows Hillary did her best to loose and did but come on America like most of us felt "were these really the best this country has to offer ????"

that's a pretty standard ploy from homeowners insurance but if you have a rider on your cameras it doesn't seem to apply

These are the links I have on insurance. I don't have specific camera insurance for a number of reasons, mainly because I would have to pay for it. Also, there are the loopholes. Someone recently posted a story about a man who rented a car and had insurance to cover theft from the car. When his gear was stolen from the trunk, the company wouldn't pay because there was no sign of a break-in.

I think the best option for a first trip is an island cruise. You get a taste of all the islands because they are all very different. Dec to March is the best way to go for unbelievable encounters with humpback whales. You can watch them breaching from the beach. There are a lot of tour books that highlight the best of each island. We stayed in Honolulu for a few days before the cruise to see some of Oahu (pearl Harbor, Polynesian cultural center, Diamond Head...) On Maui you don't want to miss sunrise on the volcano (dress warm it can be very cold) then you ride bikes down. It's all down hill. ride the brakes, almost never pedal. There is also the road to Hana which you will never forget. On Kuai there is Weamia Canyon and on Hawaii there are the volcanoes. Bring a tripod, you won't regret having it

we live in northern New York and have not paid for electricity since installing rooftop panels a year ago. we pay a monthly line charge around $17 and that's it. we even use an electric hot water heater. Our roof exposure is SE but we're still generating power as the sun sets over Canada ( I said we are in northern NY) The government incentives picked up a good portion of the initial cost and a tax incentive helped pay another portion when we filed our taxes this year. The incentives probably vary from state to state but whomever you contract with should have all that information as well as your breakeven point.

I carry mine in my bag attached to a D7100 and a tripod always handy that adds to the weight you carry but the results are so sharpe.

I know this isn't photography related but I also know there are some pretty savvy people on this sight. I"m using a Mac desktop
it's about 6 years old. It was top of the line when I bought it. My problem is emails that I have trashed keep coming back into my inbox on a regular basis in batches as large as 100 at a time, including my junk box. Theses have been put in the trash and periodically I delete my trash. Where are they coming from. More importantly, how do I get rid of them

from your comments I would recommend a lens wider than 24mm equivalent on a full frame body. Preferably a zoom. 24 is nice on scenics but interiors of houses will probably be better suited by something wider

"the metric system has been the "official" measuring system in this country since the late 1800's It's been such a success that they passed another bill reaffirming that fact in the late 1900s
It really is a much easier system, which is part of the reason the rest of the world uses it

the best thing about digital is to be able to check your shots immediately. If it's not what you want on auto it's pretty easy to switch to manual to adjust the exposure and then switch back iy's also easy to change ISO and change it back in the tricky, dim, indoor situations. You'll love the camera and lens combination

My main camera for scenics and candids is the D800 w/ 24-70
My "back up" is the D7100 w/ 80 - 400. On the crop body this gives me 50% greater reach without using teleconverter which would cause lens to be slower (higher f stop) It also allows me to keep the dust and w/ever out of the camera changing lenses on the go. I also have the 105 macro and the 50 1.4 for those times that I want them but I rarely change them unless I'm indoors or in a very calm, sheltered area

I did the same thing and used a homemade L-shaped hook made of paper to remove it. Quick, simple and didn't harm anything as far as I can tell

I satisfied my gas attack. I ordered the 50g 1.4 AF-S
my next gas attack will probably have to do with something for scenics wider than the 24-70 zoom vs prime ???? I already have the 105 macro and the 80-400 As you can tell by my current lenses, I have a wide range of interests for photo subjects

My main camera is a Nikon D800. I'm looking to add a 50mm lens to my kit and am really confused by all the possible Nikkor lenses. I want at leas and f1.4 but the f1.2 would be a possible choice if that is the best selection. I want the improved bokeh over my 24 - 70 and something I don't have to keep checking if the flash is casting a shadow from my lens onto the subject (sometimes I use the built in flash). The ability to hand hold with available light (w/out flash) is also desirable but I doubt the 1.2 over the 1.4 makes much of a difference there. Any strong opinions ?
