I've never been able to get Nik to work with PS Elements....it loads up ok, applies the filters, but when I click on "ok", it shuts down Elements...every time!

I am running an older iMac...2008, but with High Sierra v10.13.2. PS Elements is v14. I think the problem is I only have 4mb DDR memory. Or it could be the Nvidia 256mb graphics card....

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Yes! There is a very easy fix and it works.

I had the exact same problem with PE18 that I just bought and therefor lost all my plug-ins. I also have a Mac.

I am sorry that I cannot tell you the exact steps I took, But...if you Google that your NIK crashes when you try to save with PE18, (which is what I did) I was able to find the answer and it works. It is just a very small adjustments.

Just an extra FYI to someone else here....but, I did have to completely uninstall the Nik collection on my Mac and had to reinstall and everything is now in “filters” in PE18.
Hope this helps.

Please do not use Seagate ...mine crashed after 18months. Fortunately my wonderful computer guy was able to save and transfer all of my photos.

I only used my external hard drive for photos, and only hooked it to my Mac when needed, as I was told that this was a safeguard (which I read here) and still it crashed.

So I bought another hard drive, My Book/WD.

I, now make albums of all the photos I love...(several a year) as no one is going to want to go into my computer or hard drive after I am gone. The albums, I assume they will enjoy and pass on.

I totally appreciate your comments, but, I have wasted sooooooo much ink trying to clean the print heads and I am glad you have not had that problem...but, in reading, I think that it may be time for me to try Canon. I am not a professional, but, I do want beautiful sharp prints.

Hello gang, need your advice, please

I have wasted so much ink in trying to get rid of the stripes that attack my printed photo. Have done the print head cleaning etc. several times, and I have spent hours reading what to do. I have watched videos on how to clean my Epson and have had some success in the past etc.

Knowing that I was not going to use my printer for 3 months, I took all the ink out, put them into a plastic ziplock with a wet paper towel. It worked....but, had to shut the machine off for 24 hours after I put the cartridges back in as Epson would not recognize its own ink I find that a lot of my Epson problems have been solved by unplugging for 24 hours. At least that has been my experience.

Now, all I get is lines with all photos!! So enough is enough, I need a new printer.

Would you all please share the printer you are happy with.

I am not a professional, but, I do do a lot of photo printing.

I was looking at the Canon Pro 100 and the Epson 4550 with the ink bottles.
Would soooooooo appreciate your valued opinion on what printer you are happy with. Black and whites is important to me....

Thank you,
Edee

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you all for being who you are. This is one terrific place to be every morning while having my coffee. I have learned so much and actually keep a notebook besides me to take notes of what is advised in reference to so many things in the photography world. And when I have had a question it has always been kindly responded to.

This is my big question and it is directed only to those who have had the experience of an African Safari. What tour did you use, what time of year did you go and for how long, and what part of Africa did you explore etc. And if not too rude to ask, the generalized costs.

This is indeed the "big one" on this ole gal's "bucket list" and I would be flying from the US as I know that there are great tour operators in Europe.

I would truly love to hear from those that have had the experience, the pros and the cons.

I am looking at next year, cause this year looks like it will be the Galapagos Islands and if any of you have had that experience would also love to learn from you as well.

I do indeed look forward to whatever information you might impart with me of your experiences and I thank you ahead of time for your kindness and time taken in this request.

As some of you may remember, many of you commented that my little Lumix ZS100 camera may still be under warranty when I mentioned that the touch screen was serious acting up, but the camera was working.

I sent it by UPS insured. Cost was about $20 and it took 6 days to get to Texas Ground, I was in no hurry as I was traveling.

Last week, Panasonic called me to tell me that they had received the camera. The person mentioned that it could take up to 2 weeks before I would get it back or if further problems they would call me.

I received my camera today in perfect working order.

I am a happy camper.

Thank you again Hoggers. It is always so nice to receive the helpful information that is always offered on this site.

First off, like to thank everyone for their input on previous topics. You all helped me greatly in deciding the direction I will be taking.

Now I would like to know if anyone out there has had experience purchasing from Best Buy. Now I know it is important to support local shops, however Best Buy is offering a D750 kit with a AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens, plus other goodies, for $2399.99. While I could undoubtedly find the same deal elsewhere, I have more then a handful of gift cards that would cover nearly have the cost. So fellow UHH people what do you think?
First off, like to thank everyone for their input ... (show quote)

With Best Buy, if you spend $1500 in a year, you become a "special member" and Best Buy will allow you to try items out for 30 day instead of the 2 weeks before returning.... I have spent a lot of money with Best Buy...just wish they would have a better camera section in the store which I have written they about.
