Good morning! My husband and I are renting an RV in May and driving through Maine for 10 days! A first time event. I am hoping for some lovely pics. Scenic and of course, moose. It just occurred to me in the middle of the night I will have nothing to upload to! My IPAD will crash! Is there something out there that I can upload my pics on? I have several 32GB, 16gb, and an 8gb. Do I need to buy more memory cards or is there something better? I have the Canon 7D and the Canon 5D lll. I really don't want to buy more cards as they will be unused when we come back home.
Any suggestions?

Morning all! I want to thank you for all your responses! You are all right!
Two years ago, I would be thrilled to see and take such a photo! My true error was being so excited to find them that I did not take the time to double check my settings!
I will try again! When I get the "one" I will be posting!

Can you look at this and please tell me what I did wrong!
I really don't want to get beat up but I know there is lots wrong here!
I used a tripod. I used a cable release. I used a 2x entender on a 100-400 lens. I focused manually. (OLD EYES, THOUGH)
Here are the settings and I am not sure how I got to these!
ISO - 5000
Focal Length - 780
Aperture = F11
Shutter speed - 1250
White Balance - shade
Meter - spot
Exposure - Manual
I did everything wrong, didn't I?

Eagles at rest

Is this something we should be doing with every camera?
I just got he 5D and I would so hate to mess up the settings!

Lacey Girl, where is the option to upload only JPEG not RAW!
Also, can these pics be seen on the IPAD while you are taking them?

Morning everyone!
I have a question about light meters.....
I do not have one and while at a seminar I saw one by Sekonic. It looked nice and I went to the site to order it. Yikes! Over $500.00! Really? Are they that expensive and why?
I do outdoor pics. Flowers, scenery, kids.
I do indoor florals, trying some macro and occasionally portraits. In fact I have two coming up and (sigh) a family wedding.
I guess my question is, do they make a meter that does indoors/outdoors?
Incident/reflective?
Is there one that does everything? Then maybe $500.00 isn't so bad! My hubby saw some for about $30.00. Why such a price difference?
As you can see, I do not know much about light meters at all!
Thanks for the help!

I received my 5D and I absolutely love it!
Here's my question, I have several EF lens and several EF-S lens. Plus a few that I have no idea about. What is the visual difference between these lens?
I am so afraid I may accidentally mount an EF-S lens on the 5D and wreck it!
I am thinking of using some red nail polish on the EF-S lens to make sure I don't grab the wrong ones!
Am I worrying needlessly?
By the way, I have a 7D so I need to keep the EF-S lens!
BUT the 5D seems to be way sharper than the 7D!
As always, thank you for your help!

Tim, I bought the T2i for a back up and have maybe used it twice! I bought it as body only but I have two lens that are very similar so I would be willing to sell with the T2i a Canon 18-55 F3.5-5.6 IS Macro lens. Of course it includes the battery and battery charger, strap and its original box. I have not researched or set a price so give me an offer!

My hubby bought me (love him) the Canon 5D Mark III!
I am in shock and so very pleased!
I have the 7D, as well.
My question now is what would be the best landscape lens to buy for it?
My landscape is an EF-S so I would want one for the 5D. Any suggestions?
Or is there a good walk around lens like the Canon 18-200 for the 5D?
He bought the camera but I (retired) have to spring for the lens!
I will be selling my backup Canon T2i as I think I will be needing some cash!
Thanks for your help!

BWright, I understand fully what you mean. You, like me, need to travel a distance to set up for that special pic and it would be so nice to know ahead of time if you should run out. Why leave our warm beds? I'm guessing what these guys are saying is to just go! If you are lucky you will get your pic! I'm sure they have had their share of unlucky trips out!
Too many times I dawdled and lost out on what I hoped to get!
Just go and you will come back with something!
