Laura was right!
I ordered the head last Friday evening and it was delivered the following Monday. That's quick!
The head looks like a it's real nice piece of kit. Since this is both my first Gimbal head and the first that I have ever seen in person, I really can't say how it compares to others on the market. Plus, I'm still waiting on my lens which is supposed to be arriving tomorrow. Talk about a long week of waiting!
One thing I did notice is that my Bogen 3221 tripod seems a little puny with the Gimbal head sitting on top of it. So, I took drastic measures and ordered an Nest tripod that will, hopefully, address the problem.
Well, I'm off to Craigslist to see if I can find another Ford Bronco that I can part out, to fund the purchase of even more goodies! Ha ha!
I based my decision on Laura's recommendation. If she says that I won't be disappointed, then that's enough for me. :-D Well ... that and the carbon fiber, sold me.
President Scott Walker. Sounds good to me.

I had never needed one either, then I ordered Sigzilla and knew I needed to get her her very own nest... :-)
LOL! Yeah, I'm afraid that this lens will make me want to go to an even longer one. There may just be a Sigzilla in my future. :D

You won't be disappointed...I got mine a few weeks ago for my Sigma 150-600 Sport and it works flawlessly! Have fun with it!
Thank you for building my confidence, Laura. I've never owned a Gimbal head or even a lens that might require using one for that matter ...

Nest carbon fiber from MT Shooter here on the hog. He is the US distributor.
http://www.cameracottage.com/equipmentA lot of us on the hog have gotten one from him. Mine works great with my Tamron 150-600 and Canon 6D.
Decided to try one and placed my order. Thanks robertjer and MT Shooter. I'm kind of anxious to see the beast.

I didn't know that carbon fiber could be formed like that. Looks nice, five year warranty. I'll give it serious consideration. Thanks for the recommendation.
Hi,
I'm looking for a good quality, used, gimbal type head that will be used to support a 300mm f2.8 lens + camera, only. I'm not too worried about cosmetics. I'm more concerned about stability and fluid movement.
Been looking at the Jobu Junior but some people complain about it's stability so I'm not sure it's the one that I want. Maybe a Wimberly?
If possible, I would like to keep the price at or under a few hundred dollars, too. All depends on what you've got.
If you've got one for sale, please let me know -or- maybe you've got a recommendation?
Thanks. Now, get out there and wear out that camera! - cameraniac

It is a f:3.5. Minty.... um.... not exactly as far as the body cosmetics go. I'd give it a 8 - 8.5. It has a few minor specks of silver showing through the anodization.... nothing of any consequence. The lens came from my old music teacher when I was in Jr. High School. He passed away last year and it was passed to me. Optics, I'd give it a 9 - 9.5. Other that a very few dust particles, the optics are primo! Here's some photos of it.
Sorry that you went to the trouble to post the pics of the lens as I already have an f/3.5 model that's NIB. I'm looking for both the faster f/2.5 and Auto-Takumar f/3.5 lens'.
Someone should snatch up the 135mm that you have pictured. It appears to be in really nice condition. Even has it's hood!
By the way ... your 75-150mm is very purty.
Very nice images.
Is the 135mm Takumar that you mentioned an f3.5 or is it a faster lens?
I collect minty old, Takumar, M42 lens'. Thanks.
Me three!
Have you considered the Voigtlander?
