Hi,
I'm looking for a good quality, used, gimbal type head that will be used to support a 300mm f2.8 lens + camera, only. I'm not too worried about cosmetics. I'm more concerned about stability and fluid movement.

Been looking at the Jobu Junior but some people complain about it's stability so I'm not sure it's the one that I want. Maybe a Wimberly?

If possible, I would like to keep the price at or under a few hundred dollars, too. All depends on what you've got.

If you've got one for sale, please let me know -or- maybe you've got a recommendation?

Thanks. Now, get out there and wear out that camera! - cameraniac

Hi, br I'm looking for a good quality, used, gimba... (show quote)

Nest carbon fiber from MT Shooter here on the hog. He is the US distributor.

A lot of us on the hog have gotten one from him. Mine works great with my Tamron 150-600 and Canon 6D.

I didn't know that carbon fiber could be formed like that. Looks nice, five year warranty. I'll give it serious consideration. Thanks for the recommendation.

Decided to try one and placed my order. Thanks robertjer and MT Shooter. I'm kind of anxious to see the beast.

Thank you for building my confidence, Laura. I've never owned a Gimbal head or even a lens that might require using one for that matter ...

I had never needed one either, then I ordered Sigzilla and knew I needed to get her her very own nest... :-)

LOL! Yeah, I'm afraid that this lens will make me want to go to an even longer one. There may just be a Sigzilla in my future. :D

I got a similar one from BH for about $150. Love it. Don't think it is carbon fiber, but who cares about an ounce or two.

Not for sale but I use a Jobu , the one with the locking switch on the side and it's as stable as a rock. I've never heard anything negative about Jobu.

I'm really happy with the Nest Gimbal Head, I got from MT Shooter, at the Camera Cottage. It will be hitting the road with me to shoot some eagles in the local nest. There is a Eagle nest in New Orleans, even with a official viewing area. I ordered my Nest, with a spare plate, for quick changes in the field to another tele.

IF, I were to use a gimbal, my preference is for a side mount over a bottom mount for speed . ......
