A friend gave me a copy of Scott Kelby’s “The Digital Photography Book: Part 1 Second Edition” as a Christmas gift. What if any of the other volumes in the series do other UHH’ers think might be o value to an advanced amateur photographer? My involvement with photography goes back to 1978 so I am not new to photography. I have and have read both series of (film based) photography books by Ansel Adams. Though I still have to obtain his “Examples” and “Polaroid” books. I am familiar with Scott Kelby from his Photoshop and Lightroom books. Part of the reason I am asking is that after spending a few minutes reading Kelby’s book I found a few errors and things I just disagree with. Wow, these books are expensive too for their rather short length. Do the books in the series go beyond general digital photography information or should I consider writing my own book? Do you know of any better up to date books?

I have the entire set of the Kelby books along with his Lightroom tutorial. They are well written and easy to read and he presents the subject matter in a light and easy to follow manner.

Yesterday I went on a photo shoot. I shot in RAW. I put my pics on the computer to learn my computer cannot read NEF files. I found a converter on the Internet. It converted all my files so I could view them. But after I closed the program and went into my pics they are still in NEF. What can I do? Is there a download which will convert them permanently? Or a download which can make my computer read NEF?

Thanks for your help. Please keep it simple as I'm not a computer expert. Thanks for your help. Have a wonderful day.

You did not mention the make and model camera you have but most of the better DSLR's have menu feature that will allow you to shoot in both RAW(NEF) and JPEG. Check it out!

1. We all love to spend money buying new clothes but we never realize that the best moments
in life are enjoyed without clothes.

2. Having a cold drink on hot day with a few friends is nice, but having a hot friend on a

I really wanted some of these to turn out great. Do you think any of these are worth keeping? How could they have been done better. Could I have done more in post? Did not have a tripod with me & I know that would have helped, but just did not have one at the time. Please give your comments!! I will have a second set later.
Please feel free to make edits to any of these.

It does not matter what we think. It has always been my feeling that if it pleases you then they are good enough for you to keep. Enjoy them and be proud of your accomplishments.

One sunny day in January, 2017, an old man approaches the White House
from across Pennsylvania Avenue where he’d been sitting on a park
bench. He speaks to the U.S. Marine standing guard and says, “I would
like to go in and meet with President Obama.” The Marine looks at the
man and says, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer
resides here.” The old man says, “Okay,” and walks away.

The following day the same man approaches the White House and says to
the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President
Obama.” The Marine again tells the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr.
Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.” The man
thanks him and again walks away.

On the third day, the same man approaches the White House and speaks
to the very same U.S. Marine, saying, “I would like to go in and meet
with President Obama.” The Marine, understandably agitated at this
point, looks at the man and says, “Sir, this is the third day in a row
you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. I’ve told you already
that Mr. Obama is no longer the president and no longer resides here.

Don’t you understand?”
The old man looks at the Marine and says, “Oh, I understand. I just
love hearing it.” The Marine snaps to attention, salutes, and says,
“See you tomorrow, Sir!”

Hi I have been in the hobby for 1year and would like to discuss using software to enhance your photos vs using your photographic skills to produce great photos. As technology goes it appears to me that more people are becoming software experts than photographers. As this continues we should have photo contests in two groups one with the use of software vs a straight photo.

For me personally I only use software when I need to tweak a sky or enhance and area of a photo. I like to spend more time taking and admiring photos than spending my time in front of a monitor. Today's cameras are equipped with some great features that most photographers are either too lazy or don't understand that can give you great photos right out of the camera. My .02 worth on the topic!

Yongnuo will be offering lenses for Nikon cameras by the end of 2015. You can be sure the price will be lower, but how good will they be?

I use their remote triggers and their speedlight which I find to be very good products. My only knock is their documentation and user manuals are very sketchy and difficult to understand. I look forward to their entry into the lens marketplace.

Today I only get hunat eighty?
Why it change?"
The teller shrugged his shoulders and said,
"Fluctuations."
The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people too."

Thanks for the heads up but here in Northern Illinois we have not seen the sun for almost two weeks and prospects of ever seeing look very slim. SO I guess I will for photos here to see what I missed. So happy I could just shit!

The woman entered the room, and with a knowing smile teasing her full lips . . . . . . she sank into the comfort of the plush chair in the corner.

The handsome stranger turned, having sensed her approach. Locking his steely gray eyes on hers, he moved slowly toward her, his experienced gaze measuring her, hypnotizing her with his soft murmurs of assurance.

He sank to his knees before her and without a word, smoothly released her from her constraining attire. With a sigh of surrender, she allowed his foreign hands to unleash her bare flesh. He expertly guided her through this tender, new territory, boldly taking her to heights she had never dared to dream of, his movements deliberate, confident in his ability to satisfy her every need. Her senses swam. She was overcome with an aching desire that had gone unfulfilled for so long.

And, just as it seemed that ecstasy was within her grasp, he paused, and for one heart-stopping moment, she thought, "It's too big! - it will never fit!"

Then, with a sudden rush, it slid into place as if it had been made only for her. As pleasure and contentment washed over her, she met his steady gaze, tears of gratitude shining in her eyes and he knew it wouldn't be long before she returned. Oh, yes, this woman would want more. She would want to do it again and again and again...
