Making a photo of your fine cooked food is a wonderful idea, more people should do it. You made wonderful photos of your Strawberry Sponge Cake. The photo makes you want a slice of that beautiful cake! AP
Love the second one.... In my opinion in your first photo which would have made it my favorite, I would have had the cake showing the missing slice, the way it is to me it's like wow where did the slice on the plate come from......just my opinion, for what it's worth.....Tom.... ...
h and by the way.....the cake looks absolutely delicious ...
When I took the first pic it was to show the whole cake, it wasn't going to be eaten until later that night after sundown. I wasn't thinking about the second shot until the next morning when I have beautiful light in my kitchen. So after everyone got out of my hair so to speak I started playing around. However by then the cake had been hacked into and didn't look as picturesque as I wanted it, so I turned it around so it would look better. I am making a smaller version today but with mixed berries but again it's for company so it won't be cut till tonight! Lol Thanks for your comments! Here is a shot with more crop and lightened a bit
Really lovely picture Emma, I love the colour version, its very current, ---- but I do feel the mono has more of a wow factor and certainly enters the creative zone,
the monochrome image seems to be about the water-the lake in the background and falling over the rocks to the lake in the foreground. Its mesmerizing. the image in color is beautiful but its more about the fall colors, the flowers among the rocks. Its beautiful but not engrossing, if that makes sense.
Great photo of a beautiful scene. Very nicely done. Composition and color is outstanding. I would hang it on my wall. Keep up the great work, have fun, and have a GREAT DAY!
This image makes me wonder why so many, myself included, have pretty much turned our backs on black and white. I looked for this image after seeing your mention of it in the color version post.
While the subject is the same, and the effects of the long exposure are evident in both, this B&W image is head and shoulders above its color sibling.
Very well done!
Thank you, greatly appreciate your comments. I always shoot in color just in case but when I took this shot I new before seeing it on my screen that black and white would be my choice but then I do love black and white . Thanks, Ellen ---
