I have been trying to get my grand kids interested in photography. I gave my 13 year old grand son my D3100 with a 50mm lens for his birthday, He is up at Lake Tahoe for a week and has the camera, so I'll see how he does. My youngest Grandson now 8 is the most interested. Thanks for the post.

Another might be goatsbeard's relative, salsify, or oyster plant. And to make things more interesting, they hibridize.Use light coats of cheap hairspray to stabilize, then you can handle them, still gently, tho.

Thanks Mark, My pic's didn't really give a view of it's eyes, but I know they were not 3 sets of 2 close together

This is not a brown recluse. Many spiders have a brown marking on the top of their cephalothorax. This is the recluse: https://bugguide.net/node/view/1489908/bgimage Here are their eyes. You can see they are tightly clustered into groups: https://bugguide.net/node/view/1248749/bgimage
This spider? Not sure, but it does look like a male running crab spider (not necessarily this exact species): https://bugguide.net/node/view/897438

👍 The giant seed pod might be from a plant called goatsbeard. The flowers and seed heads look like giant dandelions.

Google Brown recluse. That is what it looks like to me. You do not want to get bit by it as its venom kills tissue quick.

Ok, this guy decided to hang around at the shower today. I know there is a chart on here somewhere to identify them by their eyes, but I couldn't find it. Body is about 3/8" with legs about 1"

I live here in Tehachapi, Ca. We have the Tehachapi Loop. It allow the train to climb the incline easier. The Train actually loops up and over itself. https://www.inspirock.com/united-states/tehachapi/tehachapi-loop-a659902023?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8LaDuJac2wIVibbACh3bbQgSEAAYAyAAEgJy6fD_BwE

There are several places on line you can send a camera and have it modified, or buy a kit and do it yourself' I sent it to Life Pixel Infrared Conversion 13024 Beverly Park Road, Suite 101 Mukilteo, WA 98275. It cost $275.00
