That's okay. I appreciate your time and suggestion.
Thanks. I thought it might be my computer, so I tried it on two other computers, and it did the same thing.
This problem seems to be only with this one file. I thought maybe it was the size of the file, but it's only about 106 MGS. I've done file files much larger than that with ViewNX2, without any problems. Thanks, for your input.
I just downloaded and tried Infanview, but it won't allow me to highlight a group of images, at one time. I have to open one image at a time, which is not what I want.
I want to be able to highlight a group of images, and with one click resize them, the way I can with ViewNX2. Thanks.
Thanks. I will give it a try and let you know.
I have been using the latest version of ViewNX2, to view and resize many images, i.e. 60-100 images, at one time.
The other day, I tried to resize some images, and the program kept crashing. I reinstalled the program, but that didn't help. I also noticed that this "crashing" only happened with this particular file-not any other file.
Is there a free program, that will allow me to highlight, and resize many images at one time. I usually resize the images from 320-750, on the long side. As I mentioned, ViewNX2, has always worked for me, with out any trouble. except for this file. I appreciate everyone's input.
Program mode can be useful, especially in street photography. Scott Kelby recommends P mode when doing street photography because it offers 'Instant' response, which is often needed to capture quick and unexpected action. That doesn't mean you can't use A mode for street photography; he prefers to use P mode. Since Kelby is more famous than anyone of us Hogs-it's probably good advice.
Hi,
I called Costco yesterday, and the coupon price goes into effect on October 29th. The price wil be $39.99, with the coupon. If you buy it now for $79, they will give you a refund for the discounted price, which begins on the 29th. I believe the coupon is good until the end of November,(not sure of the exact date.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
Thanks again. I just looked for your link but didn't see it. I tried to find it on line, looking for Costco coupons, but again no luck.
Would you be able to send the link or tell me where to find?
Thanks.
Mike
PS I live in NY, and so I'll have to pay the tax.
Thank you. I guess I didn't see the coupon link. I appreciate your help. Take care.
Hi, I just called Costco and also checked their online store. Elements 14 is $79. Where did you see this price?
Thanks
Hi Lou, I'm confused, as are the other Hogs, about your complaint. A $112, dollar used Nikon camera, must be an old model. If you knew ahead of time that it was broken, and needed repair, you should have called Nikon, given them the model number, and they probably could have given you a guess-estimate. You then could have checked newer models, or even refurbished models, if available, and made a better decision, as to proceed with your purchase. If you are a serious photographer, you know that quality camera gear can be expensive. Looking for a bargain is okay, if you evaluate all your options, ahead of time, should something go wrong with the purchase. It's like playing a game of chess- you have to have a plan, and plan for contingencies.
They gave you a "free" estimate for the repair, so I'm not sure what you expected of them. Every camera manufacturer would have done the same thing. Do you think Canon, Sony, or Leica, would have done something different? I'm sorry you are having this dilemma and are frustrated over this situation, but my guess is that you are disappointed in yourself for purchasing the camera based on it's price.
I, and I'm sure others, would like to hear exactly what you expected Nikon to do. Maybe we all have misunderstood your complaint-but I doubt it. Good luck.
Wow. That some backup! I guess I'm spoiled because I live so close, and can just bring it in for anything, and a lt of times they look at it while I wait. I even bring it in for Firmware updates rather than doing on the Internet.
Sorry you have to wait so long. Keep me posted. Take care.

Thanks for all of the replys. I just called Nikon they are processing packages received on 12/22. They suggested they might know more mid next week.
I was pretty sure you had tried my suggestion, but as the expression goes, "Never Assume."
I hope it turns out to be something minor. Let me know what Nikon says. I'm fortunate because I live about 20 minutes away from their repair center, and can bring in my D800 for them to check.
Thanks for getting back to me. Mike

Thanks for the suggestion Mikeazz. I tried that repeatedly before sending I off it has been broke for 2 weeks and i'm going through withdrawal.
Hi,
I'm sure you tried this, and right now it's a moot point, but did you take the battery out, and reinsert it? The reason I am mentioning this, is because I have had, and from time to time, have the same problem with my D800. I just take the battery out & put it back in. I don't know what causes it, but as I said, it happens every so often with my D800, and that's what I do. Happy New Year. Mike

I have a problem with my D7000. It won't turn off. I took it out of my bag used it for 10-20 photos and went to turn it off and it wouldn't. Completed a service request on the Nikon website. They would not quote a price for the repair so I boxed it up and sent it off. Federal express said it got there Monday at 9:10. I have not heard from them yet. How long do they normally take to process repairs?
Thanks for your reply.
