There is another discussion about this from yesterday....but...as of now you can still purchase CS6 without the Cloud as of...(I just did about 2 months ago) they offered it thru the cloud, I said no thanks, I want to own it not lease it...but as you stated...you are only renting it going that route...
(monthly fee) to stay current. My fear now is will they continue support once everything is through "The F#$@Cloud").
I told the salesman I want to own the software and his reply was if you go though the cloud, and don't keep up the subscription, you will loose access to THE software. Notice I didn't say your software. A lot of companies are doing this...holding us hostage. I for one will look else ware should they stop support for MY software and force me to upgrade via The Cloud.

But the amateur photographers help support the fixed expense of paying for the expensive research and design of the complex programs. When Adobe thins out the amateurs using P.S. will they have the income from the "Pro" subscribers to support this overhead; or will they have to cut back on future program development?? Or; will they continue to "squeeze" the pros for more subscription money to replace the amateur support?? Once they drive off the amateurs, they won't come back, they are gone for good.

According to the Wall Street Journal this morning, Adobe is planning on making the Create Suite products only available from the Cloud beginning with the next version.

I don't know about you all, but I frequently find myself in locations with poor internet connectivity, and do not want to be reliant on the internet to view, process, etc.

What do you all think. Should we flood Adobe with protest letters, friendly suggestions that they will loose a lot of business, or what?

I would like to see a sane and meaningful discussion.
