I agree with Billnikon, keep it simple and light. Pack all the gear you mentioned and start walking/hiking. Maybe rigorous training at the gym will better prepare you for an enjoyable trip out west. I understand the desire to capture nature with the best equipment. Perhaps only a few primes and challenge yourself to do the best with what you have. Are you going alone or is this a family trip? The others might not want to stay in one place very long while you set up, change lenses, move around, wait for the right moment, etc. In the end, it's your trip. Take what you want and have a great time.

I will keep my RB67, Pentax 645, Canon AE1 and most of my darkroom stuff because they are a part of my life. And I still think of shooting B/W film and developing it at home. Converting film to digital for printing. One thing I still do is NOT turn on lights when I enter a room. I can do fine in the dark. After all these years, my wife still asks, why don't you turn on the light?

I have set my Wacom so that for general use I only use a small area of the tablet but for fine photo-processing I use the whole tablet area. This works for me.

I use a smaller area, but the overall size of the tablet is just a personal preference.

My first Wacom tablet was the large one. Big mistake. Your arm will rack up many miles moving from one end to the other. Down graded to the medium size tablet. Still too big. You can reduce the work area of the tablet to reduce the distance your hand will travel. My next Wacom will be the smallest one they make. Go big or go home! Not when it comes to tablets. Go small.

I have several 13X19" photos that were laminated at Office Depot. We use them as placemats at the dinner table.

I just recently backed this product on Kickstarter: It is the Top Shelf camera bag by Bevis Gear. Because it is on Kickstarter, the bag is not actually in production yet. I looked at the link you provided for lovetily.com and it uses the same photos as the Kickstarter campaign. I have emailed the creators on Kickstarter to see if the lovetily.com bag is possibly a first generation but when I googled reviews for lovetily.com, the website is considered a scam site and would most likely not deliver any product.

The camera bag looks very good though and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a nice bag when it is finally in production and delivered.

I too saw this camera bag on kickstarter and placed an order. My credit card denied kickstarter payment. I think I'll wait until it is in production and pay a little more, after reviews start coming in.

I had some 11X14 canvas wrap prints made (Sam's Club) about 4 years ago. They are mounted on heavy cardboard with some very strong adhesive. One of the prints was made so I could tear it apart to inspect materials used. I don't know what adhesive they use, but it was so strong I struggled to tear it apart. I took it to two different framing shops and asked if they knew what the adhesive was. Nobody knew. So I'm not sure if the process is archival or not. They did not pay attention to detail and placed the hangers at the bottom of the print. Not going to hand my flowers upside down.

Then in the Middle Ages disaster struck: The plague. Washing became an issue as folks started to believe ablutions were part of the problem so stopped washing.

They used oil, perfumes to hide body odors...

If you are in store, ask to see the extended warranty and spend the time to read it right there. When I purchased my D850 a couple of years ago, salesperson said camera will be replaced, no questions asked. The fine print read up to $3,000 only and with a camera similar to the original, not brand new. So, if I drop my camera next week, you'll give me a used high shutter count camera as a replacement? His reply, we will work with you as a valued customer. To buy an extended warranty is your choice. Read the warranty in its entirety first.

I have a Benro TMA48CXL with GH5C gimbal (both are carbon fiber). My old Bogen (30+yrs old), still works. The Benro is the first tripod I've owned with twist lock legs. There was a slight learning curve for me to get the legs tight but not too tight. Got one leg too tight and had to add a few cuss words to loosen it. Tripod extends taller than me so pointing my camera with my Nikon 200-500 upwards means I don't have to put myself in bent over/twisted positions to look through the viewfinder. The gimbal is bulky but light weight, hold up to 66 lbs. I have several herniated discs in my back so this light weight setup is nice. A lot of the time, I find myself holding my camera and leaning on my tripod for stability. Works for me as long as my shutter speed is up there.
