I read a lot of people on UHH who talk well about Costco Photo printing. Do any of you have any experience with Sam's Club Photo printing? The nearest Costco is not convenient and I have two Sam's Clubs that are. So I already shop at Sam's Club. I did one small print there (upload service and pickup in club) and paid for the higher quality service and it seemed nice but I am considering some larger prints. Not sure that I want to pay for the Costco membership primarily to print photos. Looking mostly for paper and canvas.
Costco no longer has in store processing/pickup, upload then all work is mailed to you.
But you do need a membership.
Have used Sam's for a number of 11" X 16" canvas prints. Fairly satisfied with their work.

My Sams canvas print was very well done. Be sure you understand the wrap-around requirement and adjust your print accordingly.
Our Sam’s closed their photo department well over a year ago.
Sam's club here was great for many years until they stopped doing printing in store. Wherever they were sending it did terrible work, so I gave up on them.
I found Sam's in store great and used it often but like others, it was removed from the store last year. The man that ran it has been assigned to another department and I asked him what happened and he said all the stores are being redesigned and they will all close the photo department in time. Hate to see them go~
My friend took advantage of a special on wrapped canvas prints at Sam's. The results were disastrous. They weren't on stretcher bars, but on cardboard. I'd think twice before using them - at least for that product. Other products might be OK.
Sam's is closing their in-store photo processing, store by store. Used to be pretty good, maybe the best of the cheapies.
Hi Jonathan,
I have used Sam's printing service extensively over the past few years and have been very satisfied, but was really bummed-out to learn they have taken their photo printing dept. out, at least from our locality, so not sure if it's nation-wide, or just our area. Have not tried Costco's but I guess that's going to be my 'go to' (locally) in the future, as long as they don't discontinue their service too. Sam's was great and if ever any little imperfection was discovered, they were happy to 're-do' it and make sure I was satisfied.
Good Luck,
God Bless,
Papa Joe

Unfortunately, as of February 14th, Costco's service is on-line only. I've used Costco for years and ordered online but picked up in the store. I checked their shipping charges (that for most companies comes to quite a bit), and they seemed quite reasonable.

My Costco stopped in store printing years ago!
I had some 11X14 canvas wrap prints made (Sam's Club) about 4 years ago. They are mounted on heavy cardboard with some very strong adhesive. One of the prints was made so I could tear it apart to inspect materials used. I don't know what adhesive they use, but it was so strong I struggled to tear it apart. I took it to two different framing shops and asked if they knew what the adhesive was. Nobody knew. So I'm not sure if the process is archival or not. They did not pay attention to detail and placed the hangers at the bottom of the print. Not going to hand my flowers upside down.

I used sam's all the time as a member etc. Can't speak for all Sam's clubs but mine no longer does in house printing. It's all farmed out and takes at least a week to get results. I never used them for quality prints but quick and dirty 8x10's before printing for real. for the Q&D I'll use CVS or Walgreens and such and get them in a day. I have a local place for high quality paper and printing.
