I am surprised to see how many others are disabled. I am a paraplegic and get around in a power chair in the house and outside in a power scooter. I use a Nikon P-500 now because it is light weight and compact enough for me to carry on my scooter and I can again take wildlife photos. Since my legs are dead I have to strap them together and this I use to my adavantage. I place my mono pad between my legs and the scooter seat and this give me a steadier mount for the camera. The main places I visit have boardwalks which allow me to get into the spots ideal for photography.
I really enjoy this FORUM and have learned a lot from the MASTERS who have taken the time to explain their craft to want to be's. Thanks again!
Are you finding the birds on inland ponds or out in costal marsh? I have not seen any so far down here about 100 mi south of you.
Tom
Great Pic's and I will be on the lookout now for the Glossy Ibis as I have never seen one.
I am impressed, nice job.
Are you going to give us a clue how you worked your magic?
I did not know that about colors and auto focus. I will keep that in mind when shooting.
I shot this Blue Heron yesterday in Corscrew Swamp and I thought maybe I could make the bird just stand out.
I tried darking then bringing up the highlights.
Then I wondered is this photo good to go as is?
What do you think?
Thanks for the positive ID of the bird. Good to know!
You might think this photo is PP but actually the Ibis walked into a shaft of sun light from a hole in shade tree above him.
Let me know if I identified the bird correctly as most Ibis I see are all white.
I went to your site and you have captured some great gator images. Nice Job!
Just so the people up north know, these gator shots are of wild alligators and there are no fences seperating us.
Just wondering how long a lense did you use on the 2nd gator?
The eyes just seem to say come just a foot more and I will have you! ( F 5.7 1/250 sec 530mm)
Maybe that is why NIKON developed the bridge camera so you always have the focual lgt. from 23mm -800mm while also being compact and light. Food for thought!
I have been using windows 7 on this site with no problems.
