These seem to be doing okay but our neighbors, who are less than 1/2 mile away, have found two dead in their woods. I've quit snowshoeing through our woods and river bottom so as not to disturb them.
West Central Minnesota has seen its share of snow, wind, and below zero temps this winter. The harsh conditions are starting to take a toll on the local deer herd. We've always had a few that show up for a snack at dawn or dusk but lately we've had a dozen or more wander around the yard and through the woods at dawn, dusk, and a few at anytime in between. These photos are all from today and shot from my home through dirty windows and screens.

How many noses do you see?
Busted!
Is it safe? Is the dog out?
Young buck?
Not sure about the dog. Going to wait here for a little bit.
Enjoying the sun!

Hi! Retired math teacher from west central Minnesota. I enjoy taking pictures of my family, pets, wildlife, and the surrounding countryside. Looking forward to learning how to get the most out of my 12 year old Canon Rebel T1i and improving my post processing skills. Your wisdom, advise, and inspiration will be greatly appreciated.
