Many stores are eliminating or "Max 10 items" for self checkout.... Shrinkage... Even if I only have ONE item at a store, I prefer to use a people checkout. It's extremely rare that I would use a self checkout.
I quickly discovered that the self-checkout machines do not smile at my jokes! 😕 At least I can try to brighten another human's day!
Yes, but since it is not politically correct to point out failures among one's peers (there's a joke) I only do it when I find it to be extremely offensive.
Odd. The products I've worked on – vending machines and alarm systems – have all had "watchdog circuits" which, if not "fed" regularly, would restart the micro, keeping it from wandering off to la-la land. Quality Control at Keurig should be interested in knowing about this, if you are so inclined.
Google: Eating your own dog food or "dogfooding" is the practice of using one's own products or services. This can be a way for an organization to test its products in real-world usage using product management techniques.
The nearest I got to anything like that was when I worked in the United Artist's warehouse on Long Island. You could go to any UA theater Mon-Thurs, show your employee ID and get in for free.
