Just picked up a pair of iPhone 12 Pro Max (for my wife and I). Took a bike ride along the beach and captured a few late afternoon beach images with Catalina Island on the horizon. Dust from the Santa Ana winds created a very nice glow as the sun set. These images were captured as raw files with the Moment Camera app. This camera is noticeably better that the camera in my iPhone X. Still have some exploring to do with this device.

Very Nice Mike. Just got my iPhone 12 pro, haven't gotten it set up yet. Your's is doing a great job for you.

Has anyone converted a digital camera to monochrome using “MaxMax” company? If so, did it work? It cost around $1500.Thanks

I have shot a lot of B&W for many years, 35mm up to 4x5. Love B&W, still have my Zone vi converted 1 degree Pentax spot meter. I know I'm swimming up stream, but Silver Efex, as good as it is, never really turned me on. Something never felt quite right about the images. So yes, I had a Sony A7Rii converted to monochrome. it cost me $1000.00. It was done by monochromeimaging.com. I had the color array removed and the infrared filter left in place. (Don't care for infrared photography) This setup responds just like a film camera and I don't waste my time developing film. I can use my spot meter from years ago and can still use my B&W filters from many years ago. I really enjoy the process. You will notice two things when you shoot a monochrome converted camera; the images produced will be much more detailed that the color files you shot before with the same camera. You will also notice that you seem to pick up about 1/2 stop of iso speed. The number guys who've never shot a conversion will say that's impossible, but if they shot mine beside me, they would agree. The reason for these things happening is that the color array blocks anywhere from 20 to 40 percent of the light hitting the array. It depends on the age and design of the camera. when the array is removed, every pixel records all the light hitting it. That's my story. I'm glad I did. It's fun. Sorry I'm so late answering you. I spent my day conducting an Action Pistol match. I'm a competitive self defense pistol shooter in addition to a camera shooter. I just got scores sent out and found your question. Lynn

With all the Covid isolation going on my wife was suffering from Cabin fever so we decided to hit some backroads of Tennesse to see what we can find. This trip took us towards the Tennessee/Ky borders and we even made it into Ky for a short while. There are several images so I will break it up into two posts. All images shot with IPhone 8+ with and without Moment 18mm Wide lens. First up. Athens,Tn. The reason we decided to go there was to check out this old church. We weren't able to go inside so we had to take what we could get. #2 These old buildings were across the street from the church and at first glance, it wasn't grabbing me until I noticed the boards used to cover the windows. I knew there were TEXTURES images to be had and it didn't disappoint me. Next up, we ventured across the state line into Guthrie,Ky where there was an old church we were interested in. Bonus here was the old Coke Mural on the side of a large building. I will be posting a second set of images in another post that will continue our trip that day what what we found to photograph.

Nice set Dave. Very sharp detail as usual. Your biggest success for me is that you captured the feeling. It's shivering cold out there.

Every year we loan at least one nativity to our church for Christmas. This year we also loaned 2 banners.
We bought this nativity at Festival of Sharing and the banners from Donnely’s, a Catholic book and supply store in Kansas City MO

Nice nativity and nice banners. Nice of you to make such a loan. Congrats on your generosity.

Shaping Your Light.
It's another rainy day. I looked around the house to find something to shoot. Sometimes it's an item I shot before; this time I tried directional lighting. Shot was done with two external lights. One light was between two black sheets of foam core. The other was a speed light thought a round white paper tube. The white paper made a different color light vs the back light. Had to play with color shifting several times to get it close. The light around the glass base had several spots and a funky pattern in it. I made a selection of the area then used Gaussian blur to smooth everything out.

assuming the model pro-1000 is similar to the models pro-100 & old pro-9000, I have no idea what you are describing. Don't see how one cartridge can be stuck. The only odd thing with Canon printers is you have to wait until the printer head and ink assembly moves to the middle exposed area of the track it is on. Is there a top edge retainer lock that needs to be released first? I've seen that on other printers.

Thanks for your consideration. This is a know problem with Pro-1000. There isn't a known cure, so I'm grasping at straws.

Lynn - I had the same problem with my original Pro-1000. No way to get the stuck cartridge out. This is a known problem with the printer. I called Canon support, and had a knowledgeable tech on the line for about 40 minutes. Tried a number of different things to no avail. Even though the printer was 2 months out of warranty, the tech made arrangements to ship me a new replacement and I shipped the broken printer back to them with postage paid by Canon.

Good luck!

Thanks. My morning project is Canon support.

Hi gang. I'm printing 10 8.5x11 family calendars on double sided paper. Using lots of ink, when I was told it was time to replace the "PM" cartridge. fine, push in cartridge, not much movement, wouldn't release the cartridge & didn't snap it back. Tried several time using different techniques, no luck. Anyone have a solution besides a sledge hammer and a torch?
