My camera has a setting to shoot both JPEG and RAW. I use that setting so if I like the picture as it comes out of the camera I don't have to do anything, but if I want to tweak the picture to make it "better", I can process the RAW image. But if you are going for fast, with as little post processing as possible, definitely go with JPEG.

I do alot of work for Church and a local christian theater. I have heard alot about the 2 types and seeing has how I take 100s of shots at either one and like to edit fast I was wondering which would be better and easier to use.

I have a Pentax K-r, and I would not trade for it. They are excellent cameras, and are just as good as Canon or Nikon in my opinion.

Hi all,
I've been reading the fourms for a few days now and notice that no one seems to use Pentax. I'm new to Pentax and SLR potography. I have used a Canon PowerShot A590 in the past, and still do use from time to time, but wanted to get more serious with my photography without jumping right into the big money professional cameras. I have a Pentax K-r I bought last years and have a tri/unipod, lenses smc 18-55 & smc 55-300 & a lens hood so far. I want to invest in a better flash than the built in one and I think a macro lens would be nice. I mainly shoot indoor basketball games and dance. Outdoor action shots of birds & dogs and I like playing around with macro shots.
Any thoughts or advice for a new SLR user?

I also love to shoot pics in the fog. They are very dramatic.

The fall colors were awesome this year. Here is a shot I took. I think the rising sun hitting the tree through the fog makes the tree look like its on fire.

I was using a Pentax K-r, 18-55mm lense. I don't remember the settings. I was using "makeshift" lighting, 2 lamps. I was not real happy with the final products, but these were taken to go on my wifes website to find them homes. And it was my first time taking pics like this.
