I did that last Christmas. I believe the biggest item is what you will be doing with the output. If you are going to print larger then 8x10 a full frame sensor will be a good fit. If you plan on 4x5, photo book or just occasional printing and APS, may be a better fit. APS also better fits a tight budget. Next what type of photography, this will give you an idea of type of lens you will want in the future. If budget is a concern, start a wish list of lens and there prices. I found that APS, telephoto lenses are less expensive and light then equivalent full frame lenses. However, full frame is better for wide angle.

Google can be you best friend in finding reviews for equipment.

I purchased and installed. First reaction is it does the image enhancements I am looking for. But no batch mode, or editing several images, then exporting them all at the same time, have the computer do the hard work while I am eating dinner.

Give me a month and I will know all the technical tricks. Looking forward to learn it. Worst case it just delayed my purchase of lightroom for six months.

I keep all pictures of my daughters and granddaughters. The other I rate and keep 3 stars and above. Two stars are normal good pictures but relatively the same scene that a higher rated photo. 1 Stars are either experiments that already got the information from or a screwed up image.

The RAW file is not changed when editing. You can save your edits in anther file format; Photoshop, Tiff, JPEG or several others. TIFF will save with much more data then JPEG. When saving with JPEG normal you can select image size and Quality, keep original image size and highest quality, would provide you with a very good output at 11x14.

Some applications record the edits they you have made, then reapply them went you reopen the RAW file. These files are small and are stored on your system. If you transfer images to another system and want the edits, you need to move both the RAW and the edit file. Check were your application stores the edit file.

Hello, I have been following UHH for about six months. It has been educational. I have been using Digital camera since early 1990. I worked for Kodak and had a DSC200 available to me, plus most of their early point and shoot cameras.

Last Christmas, my wife gave me a Canon EOS T6 camera (I pointed it out to her). Since, I do not print out or sell photographs; this camera is great for me.

UHH has provided info on the back button focus, the discussion about software has helped me select Luminar software and now I am hoping to receive a telephoto lens for this Christmas. The plan is to go to B&H with my wife to select one (right now I have it down to three).
