This last shot is the cropped version. It uses all the principles I outlined in the earlier posts to create the most pleasing photo avail of a hawk in the depths of Big Cypress Swamp. While some purists will want a photo without the dappled lighting (all those white spots on the right) this photo shows the real feel of the swamp with the filtered light and the deep shadows.

I hope this little series has shed some light on what goes through the mind of a photographer on a shoot. I frequently come home with no photos, as I tend to be picky about what I want. If I'm not going to get a shot that pleases me, I just don't take the photo. Instead I work for or wait for a better opportunity.
