Thank you, Rob!!! I appreciate the compliments!! The Tamron lens is the hero of this shoot with a little help from the arm of a patio chair. I really appreciate you commenting and viewing my photos!!

What a steady hand, Dodie! Beautiful work.
Thank you, Mike!!! I do credit the 3.5 stops of image stabilization provided by the lens in addition to the arm of the patio chair that supported my elbow. I appreciate your compliments and you taking time to view the photos!!!

You're doing good. Keep it up. I doesn't happen overnight.
Thank you DAN Phillips!! Due to work my hobbies were put on hold. Retirement and Covid got me started again but was limited due to lockdown. Now that things have eased up I will be doing a lot more and you are correct that getting back into it doesn't happen overnight.
Thank you for viewing my photos and commenting!!

Nice shots. 1/15th of a second handheld with a 90mm lens is something I wouldn't try unless the lens has VC or the camera has IBIS. You must be rock steady.
Thank you JRiepe!!! This lens has 3.5 stops of image stabilization. I credit the lens for most of my success but will say that I was sitting in a patio chair with my elbow being supported by the arm of the chair and pressing the shutter at the end of my breath. Thank you for for looking and the very nice comment.

Last November I purchased a refurbished D810 and had played around with it but hadn't really taken photos with it. Currently, I am taking a Continuing Education (hobby) photography class. I thought it would be a good way to get myself motivated to go out and take photos plus it never hurts to take a refresher course. Yes, I have learned a few things that I didn't know before. In search of something to photograph, my neighbor's mom volunteered her new lily. It is labeled a Fairy Lily and I thought I would share it with all of you.
These were taken with a Tamron 90mm macro lens, 1/15 second (hand held), f16, auto white balanced and a little processing in Lightroom. The second one was 1/30 second (hand held), f8.
Much better than my iPhone 6s which is only 8mp. Thank you for the info.

Just out of curiosity, what megapixel size is your phone's sensor?
