Thanks, I believe that the A65 will do excellent video, but the other camera's are pretty tough. I strap one of them to the front of my 4 wheeler and climb mountains and the other strapped outside of my car sometimes. I would be afraid to put the A65 in either of these places. So far I do like the A65 but still learning it.

Not my thread but looks like it's true that "you can't please everyone all the time." I will only emphasize that if you're after some really fine looking video, can adapt it to your needs, and are willing to accept the limits, a DSLR can do really well.

I like the crab, sand and surf pic. I think the falls need more area in the pic, wider angle and more top and bottom to it, but not much more. It's still a good pic. I like the flowers all in focus. I have been to looking glass falls, I live north of Ashville also in Avery County most of the time. Keep up the good work, good to see you on here.

You know, I do remember seeing that sign, but I took those photo's about 10 years ago. I have more pics of just about everything above the floor of the bridge, I just gotta find them.

I did notice how the individual strands were put together when I was there. They used the old Western Union splice. Just twisting the wires together, but very effective.
Is the "No fishing off the bridge" sign still there?

Dunatic, SORRY! the film (wasn't digital back then) was handed off to a friend of mine whjo was the site manager for the Royal Gorge Bridge. He needed the photos for an engineering issue he was addressing and I never saw the film or the shots again so there is no possibility of posting the results of the cold climb! I still remember how cold it was hanging up there and trying to take excellent shots of those cable saddles with fingers that did not want to work correctly.....

I would never climb on those cables. I hope they paid you very well.

One of the most interesting assignments I ever had in my photography business was to climb to the top of the towers where the huge cable bundles pass over the tower 'saddle' and take pictures of the wear on the cables. Temperature variation changes the length of the cables that support the bridge so they 'move' back and forth over the saddles causing wear. I remember it was in winter and I got all the way to the top and my Canon A1 was good for 3 shots and the battery was so cold it went dead! I had to climb down, get my Canon F1 and climb back up with the F1 under my down parka to protect the battery, I then could finish my shooting task. It was something I will never forget because it MORE THAN 1053 FEET to the Arkansas when you are hanging from the top of those towers!

Very Close Nikonian72. Taken thru the boards on a bridge. The bridge had boards to drive across. I can't believe I did drive a car across that. I will post a pic of the bridge and the boards.
