Thanks. I appreciate it. I looked through the rest of the shots, and seeing as how I was purposely trying to take only shots when it's wings were open, I don't have one with the underside of the wings. Nonetheless, thanks.
Can anyone help me identify this butterfly? Or maybe it's a moth. The picture was taken in SE Washington State. The butterfly is about the size of a U.S. quarter. Thanks, Seamus

I'm sorry everybody, but I'm pretty sure this "Lady" is a Finch. I uploaded a photo of a Gray Jay. Please notice the beak and the wing bars. Seamus

I'm stumped. I think it's a variation of some kind Finch, but I can't find it anywhere. I'm almost certain it is not a jay. It has a finch's beak. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. However, I enjoyed the challenge. Nice photo, by the way. Seamus
